Applications Invited
The National Institute of Education invites applications from qualified, experienced and dynamic professionals, academics and practitioners to serve as External Resource Persons (ERPs) for upcoming curriculum development activities related to Junior Secondary Education covering Grades 6 to 9.
Selected applicants will contribute according to their subject expertise in Sinhala, Tamil or English medium.

- Editing Panels
- Review Committees
- Training of Trainers (ToT) Programmes
- Translation Services and Language Editing, where applicable
Who Can Apply?
Higher Education Sector
Senior Professors, Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and other academics attached to recognized universities.
Teacher Education Sector
Officers of the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators’ Service attached to National Colleges of Education, Teacher Training Colleges and Teacher Development Centres.
School Education Sector
- Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS)
- Sri Lanka Principals’ Service (SLPS)
- Sri Lanka Teacher Advisory Service (SLTAS)
- Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service (SLTS)
Specialized Experts
Technical experts, ICT specialists, language editors and assessment specialists.
Selection Criteria
- Academic and Professional Qualifications: Relevant degrees and professional certifications in the applicable subject area.
- Experience: Proven experience in curriculum development, teaching, research, publications, training or capacity development.
- Professional Standing: Seniority, professional recognition and leadership experience.
Selection will be conducted according to standard NIE criteria while considering quality, transparency and representation across provinces, genders and language groups.

Key Terms and Conditions
- Selected resource persons will receive remuneration according to approved government rates and NIE financial guidelines.
- A person appointed to a Review Committee must not have participated in writing, editing or training panels for the same curriculum product.
- Selected applicants will receive an official appointment letter and must sign the prescribed terms and conditions.
- Appointed resource persons must maintain confidentiality and complete assignments within the specified timelines.
- Applicants must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest.
- The names, designations, institutions and assigned roles of appointed candidates may be published on the official NIE website.

- Provide evidence of experience and areas of expertise.
- State the preferred contribution roles, such as Writing, Editing, Review, Training or Translation.
