The Open University of Sri Lanka invites online applications for the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences programme for the 2026/2027 academic year. This multidisciplinary undergraduate programme is conducted by the Department of Social Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Important: Applications must be submitted online. Payment may be made by credit/debit card. Applicants without a card may make the payment in cash at an OUSL Regional or Study Centre.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following:
- A minimum of three passes at the G.C.E. A/L Examination in any stream; or
- Completion of any foundation programme offered by OUSL; or
- A minimum of 30 credits at SLQF Level 2 or above from a programme approved by the OUSL Senate; or
- A qualification or accredited work experience equivalent to NVQ Level 4; or
- An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the OUSL Senate.
Areas of Study
Students receive multidisciplinary social-science training and can select one of the following streams:
- Economics and Development Studies
- Communication Studies
- Politics and International Relations
- Society and Culture Studies
The programme starts at Level 3. Each year has two semesters, and students may offer courses worth up to 15 credits per semester. Compulsory, elective and Continuing Education courses are included.

ශ්රී ලංකා විවෘත විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ සමාජ අධ්යයන අංශය විසින් පවත්වනු ලබන සමාජ විද්යා ශාස්ත්රවේදී උපාධි පාඨමාලාව 2026/2027 සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත.
- අයදුම් කාලය: 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 01 සිට 30 දක්වා
- මාධ්යය: ඉංග්රීසි
- අවම කාලය: වසර 3 (උපරිම වසර 9)
- අයදුම් ගාස්තුව: රු. 500
- මූලික සුදුසුකම: ඕනෑම විෂය ධාරාවකින් අ.පො.ස. උසස් පෙළ විෂය තුනක් සමත්වීම හෝ දැන්වීමේ සඳහන් පිළිගත් සමාන සුදුසුකමක්.

இலங்கை திறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் சமூகக் கற்கைகள் திணைக்களத்தினால் நடத்தப்படும் சமூக விஞ்ஞானங்களில் கலைமாணிப் பட்டப்படிப்பு 2026/2027 இற்கு விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன.
- விண்ணப்பக் காலம்: 01 செப்டம்பர் முதல் 30 செப்டம்பர் 2026 வரை
- பயிற்று மொழி: ஆங்கிலம்
- குறைந்தபட்ச காலம்: 3 ஆண்டுகள் (அதிகபட்சம் 9 ஆண்டுகள்)
- விண்ணப்பக் கட்டணம்: ரூ. 500
- அடிப்படைத் தகுதி: எந்தப் பாடப்பிரிவிலும் க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரீட்சையில் மூன்று பாடங்களில் சித்தி அல்லது அறிவித்தலில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளத்தக்க சமமான தகுதி.
