Closing Date: 04 September 2026 - 4.00 p.m.Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following non-academic posts at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. Read the relevant qualification card carefully before applying.
1. Nursing Officer - Grade II
Required Qualifications
- G.C.E. O/L: Passes in six subjects, including credit passes in three subjects, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- A Certificate of Competence as a Nurse recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
2. Public Health Inspector - Grade III
Required Qualification
- Must have passed the Public Health Inspector Examination conducted by the Department of Health.
3. Technical Officer (Audio Visual) - Grade III
Required Qualifications
- Passes in three subjects at the G.C.E. A/L examination in any stream; and
- One of the following technical qualifications:
- NVQ Level 5 or above in Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics, Multimedia or Audio Visual Techniques from a recognized institution; or
- A relevant diploma at SLQF Levels 3 and 4 or NVQ Levels 5 and 6 offered by a university under the UGC; or
- An equivalent qualification accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, together with one year of Audio Visual work experience in a reputed organization.
4. Technical Officer - Grade II, Segment B
Required Qualifications
- Passes in three G.C.E. A/L subjects in one sitting in the Biological Science, Physical Science or Technology stream; and
- A relevant skill-oriented formal training programme of at least one year full-time duration, or an equivalent qualification. Acceptance of the programme will be determined by the relevant faculty.
5. Management Assistant - Grade III
Required Qualifications
- G.C.E. O/L: Passes in six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil, English/English Literature and Mathematics.
- G.C.E. A/L: Passes in all subjects, excluding the Common General Paper, in one sitting. Under the old syllabus, passes in three subjects in one sitting are sufficient.
- Preference will be given for a recognized computer applications qualification of at least six months and two years of experience using computer application packages.
6. Works Aide - Grade III
Required Qualification
- G.C.E. O/L: Passes in six subjects, including at least two credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
7. Security Guard - Grade III
Required Qualification
- G.C.E. O/L: Passes in six subjects, including at least two credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
8. Gardener - Grade III
Required Qualification
- G.C.E. O/L: Passes in six subjects, including at least two credit passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
General Requirements
- Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
- Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties effectively and must possess excellent moral character.
- The University's working languages are Sinhala and English.
- Government and UGC-approved allowances will be paid in addition to the stated salary.

- Clearly write the post applied for on the top-left corner of the envelope.
- Email a PDF copy of the application to nae.division@vpa.ac.lk.
- Applicants in government or corporation service must apply through the relevant Head of Department.
The application must reach the University on or before 04 September 2026 at 4.00 p.m. Incomplete, late or unsupported applications will be rejected.
