1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation operates Sri Lanka’s pioneering
emergency and pre-hospital care ambulance service under the Ministry
of Health and Mass Media.
The foundation carries out its life-saving mission through 322 ambulances operating islandwide.

Available Vacancies
1. Emergency Medical Technician – EMT
- Open to male and female applicants.
- Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
- Three passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in any stream, preferably in the Bio Science stream.
- Applicants with NVQ Level 4 in a health-related field may also apply.
- Minimum “S” pass in English at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.
- Basic Information Technology knowledge.
- Additional language proficiency will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in Emergency Medical Services will be an added advantage.
- Minimum height for males: 5 feet 4 inches.
- Minimum height for females: 5 feet 2 inches.
- Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.
Training and Service Requirement:
Selected candidates must complete a diploma course conducted by the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation in collaboration with a university. Candidates must serve the foundation for at least three years after completing the course.

All applicants must successfully pass a physical fitness test.
2. Pilot – Ambulance Driver
- Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
- G.C.E. Ordinary Level with passes in six subjects.
- A valid heavy vehicle driving licence.
- Minimum two years of work experience in a reputed organization.
- Good communication skills in Sinhala or Tamil.
- English language knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Minimum height: 5 feet 2 inches.
- Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.
- Visual acuity must be between 20/20 and 20/30.
All applicants must successfully pass an aptitude test.
3. Emergency Medical Dispatcher – EMD
- Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
- Three passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in any stream.
- Good communication skills in Sinhala and Tamil.
- English language proficiency and Information Technology literacy will be added advantages.
All applicants must successfully pass an aptitude test.
