Registration for Postgraduate Studies
The Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya invites applications for its postgraduate study programmes for the academic year 2026/2027.
Programmes include Postgraduate Certificate Courses, Postgraduate Diplomas, Master of Arts degrees and Higher Degrees by Research.
Postgraduate Certificate Courses
- Certificate Course in English for Buddhist Studies
- Certificate Course in Pali for Postgraduate Buddhist Studies
- Certificate Course in Chinese for Postgraduate Buddhist Studies
Postgraduate Diploma Courses
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pali – One Year
- Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies – One Year
Master of Arts Programmes
- Master of Arts in Pali – One Year
- Master of Arts in Pali – Two Years
- Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies – One Year
- Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies – Two Years
- Master of Arts in Buddhist Counselling – One Year
Higher Degrees by Research
- Master of Philosophy – Two Years
- Doctor of Philosophy – Three Years
Applications for research degrees are accepted throughout the year and should be submitted in person.
Lecture and Examination Arrangements
English Medium: Online and on-site lectures may be conducted on weekdays and/or weekends.
Sinhala Medium: Online and on-site lectures may be conducted on weekends and/or weekdays after office hours.
Final examinations may be conducted on-site or online, subject to applicable conditions and additional charges.
Course Fees for Local Students
Year 2: Rs. 30,000

Application Fees
Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and MA applications: Rs. 500
MPhil and PhD applications: Rs. 1,000
Application forms can be obtained from the institute website or its office. Applicants should carefully read the official advertisement before making payments or submitting an application.

කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්යයන පශ්චාත් උපාධි ආයතනය විසින් 2026/2027 අධ්යයන වර්ෂය සඳහා පශ්චාත් උපාධි සහතික, පශ්චාත් උපාධි ඩිප්ලෝමා, ශාස්ත්රපති, දර්ශනපති සහ ආචාර්ය උපාධි පාඨමාලා සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත.
අයදුම්පත් භාරගැනීමේ අවසන් දිනය 2026 ජූලි 15 වන අතර, පාඨමාලා 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ආරම්භ කිරීමට නියමිතය.

விண்ணப்ப முடிவுத் திகதி 15 ஜூலை 2026 ஆகும். கற்கைநெறிகள் செப்டம்பர் 2026 இல் ஆரம்பிக்கப்படவுள்ளன.
