✅ Basic Eligibility

• Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Must be of excellent character.
• Must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
• Must not be a member of the clergy of any religious denomination.
• Must not have appeared for this open competitive examination more than two times.
• All required qualifications must be completed on or before the closing date.

Educational / Professional Qualification

Applicants must possess at least one of the following:

• A degree with a First Class or Second Class pass awarded by a recognized state or foreign university, a university established by an Act of Parliament, or an institution recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act. The minimum period of study must be three years;
• Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka; or
• Chartered Accountant.

🎂 Age Limit

• General applicants: not less than 22 years and not more than 28 years on 31 August 2026.
• Eligible date of birth range: 31 August 1998 to 31 August 2004, inclusive.
• Officers serving in the Public Service or Provincial Public Service: maximum age limit is 35 years, subject to the conditions stated in the Gazette.

💼 Appointment and Salary

• The post is permanent and pensionable.
• The appointment is subject to a three-year probation period.
• Monthly salary scale: Rs. 82,150 – 10×2,400 – 8×2,940 – 17×3,900 – Rs. 195,970 (SL-1-2025).
• Selected officers must satisfy the required Efficiency Bar and official-language proficiency requirements within the prescribed period.

📝 Written Examination

• The examination will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
• Candidates must answer all three papers in the same language medium selected in the application.
• The examination medium cannot be changed after the application is submitted.
• Candidates who obtain at least 40 marks for every paper will be considered for the general interview according to total marks and merit order.

💳 Examination Fee

Examination fee: Rs. 1,200

The fee must be paid only through a payment method provided by the online application system, including eligible credit/debit cards, Bank of Ceylon online banking/Flex, or a Bank of Ceylon branch.

The full fee must be paid correctly. Examination fees will not be refunded or transferred to another examination.
