🎥 “Soba Chalana” Short Video Competition 2026

The Ministry of Environment invites creative individuals and school students to participate in the “Soba Chalana” Short Video Competition 2026. Participants can create videos focusing on environmental subjects and issues.

📌 Important Competition Guidelines

• Maximum video duration: 2 minutes.
• Videos may be submitted in Sinhala, Tamil or English.
• Sinhala and Tamil videos containing dialogue should have English subtitles.
• The subtitle condition does not apply to videos without dialogue.
• Any suitable recording device, including a mobile phone, may be used.
• The final video should be high resolution and suitable for projection on a large screen.
• An applicant may submit more than one video.
• Submitted creations must be original.

📷 “Soba Seya” Environmental Photography Competition 2026

The Ministry of Environment is organizing the “Soba Seya” Environmental Photography Competition 2026 to promote environmental awareness and conservation in Sri Lanka.

🎯 Competition Theme

Photographs can feature nature, environmental conservation and environmental issues found within Sri Lanka.

📌 Important Photography Rules

• All photographs must have been captured within Sri Lanka.
• One competitor may submit a maximum of 3 photographs.
• Entries must be original digital colour or black-and-white photographs.
• Images should be submitted in JPG/JPEG format.
• The shortest side of the image should be at least 2000 pixels.
• No borders, watermarks or signatures should appear on submitted images.
• Only limited digital adjustments permitted under the official competition rules should be made.
• Photographs must be the entrant's own original work.
