Civil Engineer

  • Salary Scale: MM 1-1-2025: Rs. 91,690 – 10 x 2,480 – 15 x 3,450 – 168,240/-
  • Basic Salary: Rs. 91,690/-
  • Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by UGC
  • Alternative Qualification: Intermediate Examination in a recognized chartered professional institute compatible to the field + 1 year experience
  • Other Important Detail: Applicants must be registered with the Sri Lanka Engineering Council as an Associate Civil Engineer
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience after qualification
  • Age: 22 – 45 years

Common Instructions

General Conditions & Recruitment Method

  • Citizenship: Applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit to discharge duties and serve anywhere in the Central Province.
  • Character: Should have an excellent moral character.
  • Applications: All applicants must submit fully completed applications with relevant qualifications on or before the closing date.
  • Internal Applicants: Only those with permanent appointments in this authority will be considered as internal applicants.
  • Submission: Applications should be forwarded through Heads of Institutions for public sector applicants already in service.

  • Selection Method: Civil Engineer, Laboratory Engineer, Technical Officer, Administrative Officer and Technical Assistant posts will be recruited through a structured interview.
  • Trade Test Posts: Heavy Machine Operator, Driver, Electrician, Welder, Injector Pump Operator and Lathe Machine Operator will be recruited through structured interview plus trade test.

  • Preference: Preference may be given for service experience in the relevant field and for applicants from the Central Province.
