Principal Service & English Language

 


Education Ministry has released a Circular no 06/2025 on the Importance of Fulfillment of the necessity of Link Language Proficiency stated in the Service Minute under the Sri Lanka Principal Service

  • Each and every officer in the Sri Lanka Principal Service should obtain the proficiency in English Language which is the Link Language, within the three (03) years from the date of recruitment in accordance with the Section 9.1 of the New Service Minute under the Sri Lanka Principal Service published in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No.1885/31 dated 22.10.2014 enacted since 01.07.2008. 
  • Further, if any officer has obtained at least credit pass or above for English Language at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination in accordance with the Sec.9.1 of the said Service Minute or the officers who have fulfilled the qualifications mentioned therein since 01.07.2020 according to the Public Service Commission Circular No.08/2020, are exempted from the necessity of fulfilling the having been passed by the English Language Test whereas other officers should pass by the English Language Test for Sri Lanka Principal Service stated in the Schedule “D” in the Service Minute.

Exam Name List - Graduates for MLT & Physiotherapist Posts



Ministry of health has released the Name List for the Examination for the Recruitment of Graduates for the Orientation and Coordination Courses in the posts of Medical Laboratory Technologist, & Physiotherapist

Exam Date - 27.04.2025

The examination is scheduled to be held on 27.04.2025 at a number of selected examination centers island-wide. Accordingly, the admission cards of all officers whose names are given in the annexure have been sent to reach the addresses mentioned in the applications by the Examination branch of the Ministry of Health & Mass Media.

In case of any candidate has not received the admission card by afternoon of 22.04.2025 please visit the Examination branch of the Ministry of Health on 23.04.2025 and 24.04.2025 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm to inform the same and to get necessary arrangements made.

The ITMD has launched the Government Salary Calculator App 2025, developed by the TEAM ITMD to assist the employees in the Public Service, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and Universities.

For those who were unable to receive the new salary revision on April 10th

 

The salary for the month of April 2025 must be paid in accordance with the provisions of the above circular. 

Even though actions must be taken to pay the salary of public officers for the month of April on the 10th of that month, in cases of failure to pay the salary revised as per the provisions of the above circular to the respective staff on the said date on any acceptable ground, actions must be taken to pay their current salary on 10.04.2025 and the amount in arrears of the salary, on 25.04.2025 due for April after the new salary conversion.

GCE A/L 2024 Results - After the New Year

 


Dinamina Paper Says, Results of GCE A/L 2024 Students will be released after the New Year.

The results of the GCE Advanced Level examination are expected to be released after the New Year period, said Commissioner General of Examinations Amit Jayasundara yesterday (07) to Dinamina.


The examination was held at 2312 centres across the country. A total of 333,183 candidates appeared for the examination, of which 253,390 were school candidates and 79,793 were private candidates.

The Advanced Level examination was held from 25th November to 31st December 2024.

The practical tests related to the Biosystems Technology (66) subject of the GCE Advanced Level examination were also held from 08th to 10th February.

The evaluation of the answer sheets of the GCE Ordinary Level examination commenced from 01st March.

The evaluation of GCE O/L answer sheets will be carried out at 1066 centers and over 15,000 teachers will participate in it.

The Department of Examinations has planned to conclude the evaluation of the first phase of the Ordinary Level examination the day after tomorrow (10).

The Sri Lanka Department of Examinations has not yet officially announced the release of the results of the recently held Advanced Level examination and there is no truth in the reports that the results of the Advanced Level examination will be released today or tomorrow, said the Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara.
