Rs. 82,150 – 10 x 2,400 – 8 x 2,940 – 17 x 3,900 – Rs. 195,970
Other government allowances will be paid as applicable according to government circulars.
Recruitment Streams
Limited Recruitment
40% of approved vacancies will be filled through the Limited Competitive Examination.
This stream is mainly for eligible officers already serving in the Department of Technical Education and Training with the required qualifications and service experience.
Open Recruitment
60% of approved vacancies will be filled through the Open Competitive Examination.
This stream is for eligible Sri Lankan citizens who satisfy the educational, professional and experience requirements mentioned in the official notice.

Limited Recruitment – Qualifications
General Requirements
- Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Should have good character and good health.
- Should satisfy the required educational, professional and experience qualifications before the closing date.
Degree Qualification Path
- A degree with the relevant subject field as a main subject from a recognized university.
- After obtaining the qualification, required active and satisfactory service experience in the relevant DTET posts.
- Experience requirement may include 05 years in MT-1/MT-2 posts or 03 years as Evaluation Officer in MN-6, according to the official notice.
NVQ Level 6 Path
- NVQ Level 6 Diploma Certificate in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
- After obtaining the qualification, 07 years active and satisfactory experience in relevant DTET posts such as Craft Demonstrator, Farm Manager or Laboratory Assistant.
NVQ Level 5 / Equivalent Path
- NVQ Level 5 or equivalent Diploma Certificate in the relevant field.
- Relevant experience such as 10 years in MN-1 posts, or 09 years in MT-1/MT-2 posts, or holding the relevant senior Craft Demonstrator post as mentioned in the notice.

Open Recruitment – Qualifications
General Requirements
- Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Should have excellent character and good health.
- Age should be not less than 21 years and not more than 40 years on the closing date.
- Should be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka.
- Should not be an ordained member of any religious order.
Educational Qualification
- A degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission, with the relevant subject field as a main subject.
- Or SLQF Level 5 qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 7 in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
Experience Requirement
- After obtaining the qualification, 03 years teaching experience in the relevant subject field in a recognized education or training institution.
- Or 03 years professional experience in the relevant field in a recognized government, local authority, company, BOI registered or industrial institution.
- Or a combination of both types of experience totaling 03 years.
Service Condition
- Selected applicants should be ready to serve in any Technical College or College of Technology under the Department of Technical Education and Training.
- The post is permanent and pensionable according to government rules.
Examination Subjects and Selection Method
Aptitude
Maximum Marks: 100
Pass Mark: 40%
Questions are based on numerical ability, logical reasoning, intelligence and general ability required for the post.
General Knowledge
Maximum Marks: 100
Pass Mark: 40%
Questions are based on Sri Lanka, current affairs, social, cultural, economic, scientific and technical knowledge.
Professional Test
Maximum Marks: 100
Duration: Up to 06 hours
Applicable for Technical Drawing, Motor Mechanics, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, Metal Work and Building Construction.
