The Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for project staff vacancies.

Recruitment will be conducted for the Maduru Oya Right Bank Development Project and Kivul Oya Development Project.

Salary Information

Selected project staff will receive salaries according to the applicable salary category and government circulars.

Advertised monthly salary ranges include:

Project DirectorRs. 365,000 – Rs. 395,000

Deputy Project DirectorRs. 330,000 – Rs. 350,000

Senior Engineer / Category C PostsRs. 295,000 – Rs. 315,000

ICT Officer / Category E PostsRs. 180,000 – Rs. 195,000

Technical Officer (I)Rs. 150,000 – Rs. 165,000

Technical Officer (II)Rs. 110,000 – Rs. 120,000

Management Assistant, Driver, Machine Operator and Office Aide salaries are governed by the specified 2025 public service salary scales. A cost-of-living allowance is payable in accordance with the relevant circulars.

General Eligibility and Conditions

Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens and should be below 64 years of age. Relevant qualifications and experience are required.

English language proficiency, computer literacy and familiarity with government regulations are stated prerequisites. Experience in foreign-funded projects in Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.

Contracts are initially for one year and may be renewed annually based on performance and project requirements.
