📢 Important Announcement
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has issued Circular No. 16/2017 (II) concerning the revision of the special monthly temporary allowance granted to officers of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service (SLPS).
The new circular provides instructions regarding the effective date of the revised allowance and the payment of arrears.

💰 Revision of the Allowance
Under the previous Circular No. 16/2017 (I), dated 27 April 2026, arrangements had been made to pay the revised special monthly allowance to principals with effect from 01 April 2026.
However, approval has now been received from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to implement the revised allowance with effect from 01 January 2026.
Accordingly, the relevant authorities have been instructed to arrange payment of the revised allowance from the new effective date.
📅 Payment of Arrears
According to Circular 16/2017 (II), the relevant arrears arising from the revised effective date must be paid to eligible officers before 31 December 2026.
The circular is addressed to Provincial Education Secretaries, Provincial Directors of Education and Zonal Directors of Education for implementation.

ශ්රී ලංකා විදුහල්පති සේවයේ නිලධාරීන් සඳහා ලබාදෙන විශේෂ මාසික තාවකාලික දීමනාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධ්යාපන, උසස් අධ්යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශය විසින් 16/2017 (II) චක්රලේඛය නිකුත් කර ඇත.
මීට පෙර 2026.04.01 දින සිට ගෙවීමට නියමිතව තිබූ සංශෝධිත දීමනාව 2026.01.01 දින සිට ගෙවීමට අනුමැතිය ලැබී ඇත.
ඒ අනුව අදාළ නිලධාරීන්ට හිමි හිඟ දීමනා 2026.12.31 දිනට පෙර ගෙවා අවසන් කළ යුතුය.
පෙර චක්රලේඛයේ අනෙකුත් විධිවිධාන නොවෙනස්ව ක්රියාත්මක වේ.

இலங்கை அதிபர் சேவை உத்தியோகத்தர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் விசேட மாதாந்தத் தற்காலிகக் கொடுப்பனவு தொடர்பாக கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சினால் 16/2017 (II) ஆம் இலக்க சுற்றறிக்கை வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
முன்னர் 2026.04.01 முதல் வழங்கப்படவிருந்த திருத்தப்பட்ட விசேட கொடுப்பனவை 2026.01.01 முதல் வழங்குவதற்கு அனுமதி கிடைத்துள்ளது.
இதற்கமைவாக உரிய உத்தியோகத்தர்களுக்கான நிலுவைக் கொடுப்பனவுகளை 2026.12.31 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் செலுத்தி முடிக்குமாறு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
முந்தைய சுற்றறிக்கையின் ஏனைய ஏற்பாடுகள் மாற்றமின்றித் தொடர்ந்து நடைமுறையில் இருக்கும்.
