The Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka (RRISL), under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Resident Engineer.

Applications are invited from candidates with recognized qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and relevant professional experience.

2. Educational Qualifications and Experience

External Candidates

• A degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience in the relevant field in a public service organization, corporation, statutory board or institution, or a reputed private institution.

Internal Candidates

Applicants must possess the qualifications required for external candidates.

3. Age Requirements

• Minimum age: 22 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

4. Job Responsibilities

The selected Resident Engineer will be responsible for:

• Planning and supervising civil, electrical and mechanical works.
• Managing and maintaining institutional infrastructure and facilities.
• Overseeing the institute's vehicle fleet.
• Designing and supervising refurbishment of buildings and laboratories.
• Managing internal road maintenance and related projects.
• Preparing estimates and supervising technical work.
• Participating in technical committees and certifying payments.

5. Selection Procedure

Selection will be based on a written competitive examination and/or structured interview conducted by a panel appointed by the appointing authority.

The written examination may include:

• Language Proficiency
• Aptitude Test
