Applications are invited from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III posts of Agriculture Instructor, Research Assistant and Soil Surveyor in the Sri Lanka Technological Service of the Department of Agriculture.
Important Details
Required Qualifications – Summary
1. Agriculture Instructor – 257 Vacancies
Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at one sitting, with credit passes in Sinhala / Tamil / English Language, Mathematics, Science and one other subject.
Applicants should also possess the required two-year Diploma in Agriculture awarded by an institution approved by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, subject to the full qualification requirements stated in the official Gazette.
2. Research Assistant – 70 Vacancies
Applicants should have passed three subjects at one sitting at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in the Science or Technology stream, including at least two relevant subjects specified in the Gazette.
Relevant subjects include Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Zoology, Biosystems Technology and Science for Technology.
Relevant NVQ Level 6 or another technical qualification recognized as equivalent by the relevant authority may also be accepted as stated in the Gazette.
3. Soil Surveyor – 02 Vacancies
The Gazette specifies the relevant G.C.E. (A/L) Science / Technology qualifications or an acceptable NVQ Level 6 / equivalent technical qualification.
Examination Details
The examination is expected to be held in November 2026 in Colombo and Kandy.
1 Hour – 100 Marks
2 Hours – 100 Marks
Candidates should obtain at least 40% for each paper to be considered according to the recruitment procedure.
Examination medium: Sinhala, Tamil or English. Candidates must answer all papers in the same selected medium.

කෘෂිකර්ම උපදේශක තනතුර සඳහා අදාළ සාමාන්ය පෙළ සුදුසුකම් සමඟ අදාළ කෘෂිකර්ම ඩිප්ලෝමා සුදුසුකම අවශ්ය වේ. පර්යේෂණ සහකාර හා පස් සමීක්ෂක තනතුරු සඳහා ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සඳහන් උසස් පෙළ විද්යා / තාක්ෂණ විෂය සුදුසුකම් හෝ අදාළ NVQ 6 / සමාන සුදුසුකම් සලකා බලනු ලැබේ.

Agriculture Instructor பதவிக்கு உரிய G.C.E. O/L தகுதிகளுடன் விவசாயம் தொடர்பான டிப்ளோமா தகுதி தேவைப்படுகிறது. Research Assistant மற்றும் Soil Surveyor பதவிகளுக்கு வர்த்தமானியில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட G.C.E. A/L விஞ்ஞான / தொழில்நுட்பத் துறை தகுதிகள் அல்லது தொடர்புடைய NVQ Level 6 / சமமான தொழில்நுட்பத் தகுதிகள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுகின்றன.
