Government Salary Calculator App 2025
The ITMD has launched the Government Salary Calculator App 2025, developed by the TEAM ITMD to assist the employees in the Public Service, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and Universities.
This app not only enables Government Officials to Calculate their salary details but also enables the relevant authorities to Generate Salary Conversion Letters based on the Public Administration Circular 10/2025 and Management Service Circulars No: 01/2025 & 06/2025.

For those who were unable to receive the new salary revision on April 10th
The salary for the month of April 2025 must be paid in accordance with the provisions of the above circular.
Even though actions must be taken to pay the salary of public officers for the month of April on the 10th of that month, in cases of failure to pay the salary revised as per the provisions of the above circular to the respective staff on the said date on any acceptable ground, actions must be taken to pay their current salary on 10.04.2025 and the amount in arrears of the salary, on 25.04.2025 due for April after the new salary conversion.

GCE A/L 2024 Results - After the New Year
Dinamina Paper Says, Results of GCE A/L 2024 Students will be released after the New Year.

The results of the GCE Advanced Level examination are expected to be released after the New Year period, said Commissioner General of Examinations Amit Jayasundara yesterday (07) to Dinamina.
The examination was held at 2312 centres across the country. A total of 333,183 candidates appeared for the examination, of which 253,390 were school candidates and 79,793 were private candidates.
The Advanced Level examination was held from 25th November to 31st December 2024.
The practical tests related to the Biosystems Technology (66) subject of the GCE Advanced Level examination were also held from 08th to 10th February.
The evaluation of the answer sheets of the GCE Ordinary Level examination commenced from 01st March.
The evaluation of GCE O/L answer sheets will be carried out at 1066 centers and over 15,000 teachers will participate in it.
The Department of Examinations has planned to conclude the evaluation of the first phase of the Ordinary Level examination the day after tomorrow (10).
The Sri Lanka Department of Examinations has not yet officially announced the release of the results of the recently held Advanced Level examination and there is no truth in the reports that the results of the Advanced Level examination will be released today or tomorrow, said the Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara.

Census Report - Population of Sri Lanka
POPULATION OF SRI LANKA BY DISTRICT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
- The enumeration stage of the Census of Population and Housing 2024, the 15th census in Sri Lanka's series of censuses, was conducted from October 2024 to the second week of February 2025. The census moment was 00:00 hours on 19th December 2024.
- According to this census, the population of Sri Lanka was recorded as 21,763,170.
- This census has shown an increase of 1,403,731 compared to the population reported in the Census of Population and Housing 2012.
- During the 2001-2012 inter-census period, the average annual population growth rate was 0.7 percent. For the 2012-2024 inter-census period, the average annual population growth rate is 0.5 percent. This indicates that while the population growth rate in Sri Lanka has slowed, the population continues to increase.
- When considering the population by province in Sri Lanka, the Western Province has the highest population, accounting for 28.1 percent of the total, while the Northern Province has the lowest, with 5.3 percent of the total population.
- When considering the population distribution at the district level, Gampaha District has reported the highest population, with 2,433,685 persons. Colombo District follows, with a population of 2,374,461. Together, only these two districts have a population of over 2 million.
- Apart from Gampaha and Colombo districts, the highest population is reported from Kurunegala (1,760,829), Kandy (1,461,269), Kalutara (1,305,552), Ratnapura (1,145,138), and Galle (1,096,585) districts respectively, with each of these districts reporting a population of more than one million.
- As in the previous censuses, districts with the lowest population in the country this time are Mullaitivu (122,542), Mannar (123,674), Kilinochchi (136,434) and Vavuniya (172,257) districts in the Northern Province.
- The highest annual growth rate of 2.23 percent has been reported from Mullaitivu district. The lowest annual growth rate is recorded in Vavuniya District (0.01 percent).
- As in previous censuses, the highest population density of 3,549 persons per square kilometer is reported in Colombo District, while the lowest population density is reported in Mullaitivu District, which has a population density of 50 persons per square kilometer.
