Applications are invited for the Driver Vacancies from Sri Lankan Airlines.

  • Need to  operate a variety of vehicles essential to airline operations.
  • Requires ensuring safe, timely, and efficient movement of passengers, baggage and cargo across terminals, and company premises. 
  • Need to work in strict compliance with established safety, security, and operational procedures, contributing to smooth ground operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, reliability, and service excellence.
Requirements
  • Six (06) passes at the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination in one sitting, including a pass for English
  • Possession of a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License
  • The upper age limit should be 40 years as at the closing date 14th January 2026.
  • Be a Sri Lankan Citizen.
Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.

2026 School Opening & January Vacation Schedule


School activities for the year 2026 will begin on 05 January 2026 (Monday). Students are requested to attend school as usual from this date.
All schools will then be closed for vacation from 10 January to 20 January 2026.
There will be no academic activities during this period. GCE A/L 2025 Exam will be conducted.

School will reopen again on 21 January 2026.

Exam Time Table - GCE O/L 2025 (2026)

 


Exam department has released the GCE O/L Exam Time Table for the 2025 O/L Batch

The Department of Examinations has released the official timetable for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination 2025, which will be held from 17th to 26th February 2026.

Key Exam Dates

  • 17 Feb – Religion subjects
  • 18 Feb – Sinhala & Tamil Language and Literature
  • 19 Feb – History
  • 20 Feb – English Language
  • 21 Feb – Aesthetic subjects & Literature Appreciation
  • 23 Feb – Mathematics
  • 24 Feb – Technology & Vocational subjects ( IT, Agri, Home Econ, HPE) 
  • 25 Feb – Science
  • 26 Feb – Business Studies, Geography, Civics, Entrepreneurship  Second Language & other languages

Morning sessions generally begin at 8.30 a.m., with some subjects also scheduled in the afternoon.

Calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, and correcting fluid are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.

The timetable is issued by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.

No Time Change for School Hours

 

Education Ministry has released a special announcement to not changing school hours for the year 2026.

Detailed Circular will be released on 02.01.2026

  • School Time 7.30 - 1.30
  • Periods - 07
  • Time of a single Period - 45 Minutes
  • Grade 06 New Syllabus will be started on 21.01.2026

School Operations and Academic Activities for 2026
  • School hours for Grades 5–13 will remain from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., as before.
  • The first school term will commence on 05.01.2026.
  • There will be 7 periods per day for Grades 6–13, and each period will be 45 minutes in duration.
  • New education reforms will be implemented in 2026 for Grade 1 and Grade 6.
Grade 6
  • Under the new education reforms, academic activities for Grade 6 will officially commence on 21.01.2026.
  • Learning modules for Grade 6 will be provided before the commencement of academic activities.
Grade 1
  • Student identification for Grade 1 will take place on 05.01.2026.
  • Academic activities for Grade 1 will commence on 29.01.2026.
  • Activity books for Grade 1 will be provided before the commencement of academic activities.
Other Notes
  • Textbooks for the other classes have already been distributed.
  • The remaining sessions of the 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will be held from 12.01.2026 to 20.01.2026.
  • The circular related to this announcement will be issued on 02.01.2026.
