SLAS Annual Transfer Procedure 2027

📌 Circular Overview

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued the annual transfer procedure for officers in Grades I, II and III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service for 2027.

• Officers serving at the same station for six years or more are compulsorily subject to the procedure.
• Officers completing an aggregate 12 years in a ministry, department or provincial council may be subject to compulsory transfer.
• The maximum service period at a listed popular service station is three years.
• Other officers may apply after completing at least two years at the current service station.
• Service periods for the 2027 transfers are calculated as at 31 December 2026.

⚠️ Important Instructions

• Use the specimen application in Annex I and obtain the recommendations of the Head of Department and Secretary to the line ministry.
• Write “Annual Transfers in SLAS - 2027” on the top-left corner of the envelope.
• Send applications to: Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Independence Square, Colombo 07.
• Officers receiving transfer orders must report to the new station on the due date.
