NERDC Government Vacancies 2026

The National Engineering Research & Development Centre of Sri Lanka (NERDC), operating under the Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the following senior positions.

Applications are accepted from eligible external and internal candidates, subject to the respective recruitment requirements.

01. Director (Finance) – HM 1-3

Qualifications – External Candidates

Applicants must satisfy either of the following:

• A four-year Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Management, Business Administration or Accounts from a UGC-recognized university in Sri Lanka, together with a relevant Master's Degree or corporate membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institute.
• OR full membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institution in a field related to the post.

Experience

Minimum 15 years of experience at managerial level in a corporation, statutory board/institution or reputed private institution.

Age

35–55 years. The upper age limit does not apply to employees of Government Corporations, Boards or the Public Sector.

Internal Candidates

Candidates must have the external qualifications stated above, or have completed at least five years of satisfactory service in Manager Category (MM) Grade I in Finance, Accounting or Auditing.

02. Director (Human Resources) – HM 1-3

Qualifications – External Candidates

A four-year Bachelor's Degree together with a postgraduate degree in HR Management or membership of a professional institute of HRD, as specified in the official advertisement.

Experience

Minimum 15 years of experience in Human Resource Development (HRD), including at least four years at managerial level in a corporation, statutory board/institution or reputed private institution.

Age

35–55 years. The upper age limit does not apply to employees of Government Corporations, Boards or the Public Sector.

Internal Candidates

Candidates must satisfy the external qualifications, or have completed five years of satisfactory service in the post of Assistant Director – Administration in Manager Category (MM) Grade I.

Salary and Other Benefits

Applicable to both positions.

Salary applicable for 2026:

• Salary: Rs. 133,028
• Professional Allowance: Rs. 25,000
• Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800

Other Benefits

• NERDC contribution of 15% to EPF; employee contribution of 10%.
• NERDC contribution of 3% to ETF.
• Government-approved transport allowance of Rs. 50,000 and fuel allowance under applicable circulars.
• Medical bill reimbursement under the approved NERDC medical scheme.
• Other government-approved benefits and allowances.
