The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education invites online applications for two separate limited competitive examinations to recruit qualified officers to Grade III of the Technical Faculty Assistant service.
The two positions are:
- Technical Faculty Assistant – Biosystems Technology, Grade III
- Technical Faculty Assistant – Engineering Technology, Grade III
Technical Faculty Assistant – Biosystems Technology
Grade III | Management Assistant (Non-Technical), Segment 02
✅ Who Can Apply?
Only permanent and confirmed officers belonging to the Primary Skilled/Primary Service Category of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education may apply.
The applicant must have completed at least five years of active and satisfactory service in a permanent post in an institution belonging to the General Education Sector under the Ministry.
Educational Qualifications
- Must have passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in one sitting.
- Must have Credit Passes in the Mother Tongue, Mathematics, Science and one other subject.
Required Service Experience
- At least five years of active and satisfactory service in a permanent post in the Primary Service Category.
- Service may be in a National School, National College of Education, Teachers' College, Teacher Centre or another institution belonging to the General Education Sector under the Ministry.
- Temporary, casual, contract and training periods completed before permanent appointment will not be counted.
Other Requirements
- The applicant must hold a permanent and confirmed appointment.
- The applicant must have completed satisfactory service during the five years immediately before the qualification date.
- The applicant must not have received a disciplinary punishment under the relevant Public Service Commission provisions.
- The relevant Efficiency Bar Examination must have been completed by the closing date.
- The applicant must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- No maximum age limit applies.
Main Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for Biosystems Technology laboratories and laboratory equipment in school technology faculties.
- Maintaining inventories of chemicals, consumable materials and equipment.
- Identifying shortages and assisting with ordering and issuing required materials.
- Repairing repairable equipment and protecting laboratory property from damage or loss.
- Assisting teachers and students during practical activities.
- Ensuring the safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
Technical Faculty Assistant – Engineering Technology
Grade III | Management Assistant (Non-Technical), Segment 02

Main Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for equipment in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technology laboratories.
- Maintaining stock books and consumable-material records under the supervision of the relevant subject teacher.
- Identifying shortages and assisting teachers to order the required quantities.
- Preparing equipment, workbenches and practical activity areas for students.
- Identifying equipment requiring maintenance and carrying out appropriate repair and maintenance work.
- Following electrical, workshop and practical activity safety procedures.
📝 Examination and Selection Procedure
The examinations will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Applicants must select one examination medium and answer all question papers in that medium. The selected medium cannot be changed later.

- Applicants must obtain at least 40 marks in each written examination paper.
- Candidates will be called for the suitability interview according to the merit order of the written examination.
- The number called for interview may be twice the number of appointments expected to be made.
- The final merit order will be determined using the written examination marks and suitability interview marks.
💰 Salary and Appointment Conditions
- Salary Code: MN 01-2025
- Salary Scale: Rs. 45,230 – 10 × 540 – 11 × 630 – 10 × 890 – 10 × 1,190 – Rs. 78,360
- The above salary scale becomes applicable from 01 January 2027, subject to the relevant public administration circular.
- The position is permanent and pensionable, subject to future policy decisions of the Government regarding pensions.
- Selected applicants must normally serve for at least three years at their first place of appointment.
- The appointment will be subject to a one-year acting period.
- The first Efficiency Bar Examination must be passed within three years of recruitment.
- Selected officers must complete the applicable official language proficiency requirements.

- Download and carefully read the examination instructions before completing the form.
- The online application must be completed in English only.
- Pay the examination fee of Rs. 600 using one of the payment methods provided in the online system.
- Retain the printed application and payment confirmation for future reference.
- Submit a copy of the application to the Head of Institution for inclusion in the personal file.
- Applicants called for interview must produce a copy certified by the Head of Institution together with a service confirmation letter.

01. තාක්ෂණ පීඨ සහකාර – ජෛව පද්ධති තාක්ෂණවේදය
අධ්යාපන, උසස් අධ්යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශයේ ප්රාථමික ශිල්පීය සේවා ගණයේ ස්ථිර පත්වීමක් දරා, එම පත්වීමේ ස්ථිර කර ඇති නිලධාරීන්ට පමණි.
- ජාතික පාසල්, ජාතික අධ්යාපන විද්යා පීඨ, ගුරු විද්යාල, ගුරු මධ්යස්ථාන හෝ අමාත්යාංශයේ සාමාන්ය අධ්යාපන අංශයට අයත් ආයතනයක අවම වශයෙන් වසර 05ක සක්රීය හා සතුටුදායක ස්ථිර සේවයක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.
- අ.පො.ස. සාමාන්ය පෙළ විභාගයේදී එකවර විෂයයන් 06ක් සමත් වී, මව් භාෂාව, ගණිතය, විද්යාව සහ තවත් එක් විෂයයකට සම්මාන සාමාර්ථ ලබා තිබිය යුතුය.
- අදාළ කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.

අධ්යාපන, උසස් අධ්යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශයේ ප්රාථමික ශිල්පීය සේවා ගණයේ ස්ථිර පත්වීමක් දරා, එම පත්වීමේ ස්ථිර කර ඇති නිලධාරීන්ට පමණි.
- අමාත්යාංශය යටතේ සාමාන්ය අධ්යාපන අංශයට අයත් ආයතනයක අවම වශයෙන් වසර 05ක සක්රීය හා සතුටුදායක ස්ථිර සේවයක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.
- අ.පො.ස. සාමාන්ය පෙළ විභාගයේදී එකවර විෂයයන් 06ක් සමත් වී, මව් භාෂාව, ගණිතය, විද්යාව සහ තවත් එක් විෂයයකට සම්මාන සාමාර්ථ ලබා තිබිය යුතුය.
- අදාළ කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.

01. தொழில்நுட்ப பீட உதவியாளர் – உயிர்முறைமைகள் தொழில்நுட்பம்
கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சின் ஆரம்பத் திறன்தரச் சேவைப் பிரிவில் நிரந்தர நியமனம் பெற்று, அந்நியமனத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் மட்டுமே விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
- தேசிய பாடசாலைகள், தேசிய கல்வியியற் கல்லூரிகள், ஆசிரியர் கல்லூரிகள், ஆசிரியர் நிலையங்கள் அல்லது அமைச்சின் பொதுக் கல்விப் பிரிவைச் சேர்ந்த நிறுவனமொன்றில் குறைந்தது 05 வருட செயற்பாடுமிக்கதும் திருப்திகரமானதுமான நிரந்தர சேவையை நிறைவு செய்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
- க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சையில் ஒரே அமர்வில் ஆறு பாடங்களில் சித்தியடைந்து, தாய்மொழி, கணிதம், விஞ்ஞானம் மற்றும் மற்றுமொரு பாடத்தில் திறமைச் சித்திகளைப் பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டும்.
- உரிய வினைத்திறன் காண் தடைப் பரீட்சையை நிறைவு செய்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
- உச்ச வயதெல்லை பொருந்தாது.
02. தொழில்நுட்ப பீட உதவியாளர் – பொறியியல் தொழில்நுட்பம்
கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சின் ஆரம்பத் திறன்தரச் சேவைப் பிரிவில் நிரந்தர நியமனம் பெற்று, அந்நியமனத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் மட்டுமே விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
- அமைச்சின் பொதுக் கல்விப் பிரிவைச் சேர்ந்த நிறுவனமொன்றில் குறைந்தது 05 வருட செயற்பாடுமிக்கதும் திருப்திகரமானதுமான நிரந்தர சேவையை நிறைவு செய்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
- க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சையில் ஒரே அமர்வில் ஆறு பாடங்களில் சித்தியடைந்து, தாய்மொழி, கணிதம், விஞ்ஞானம் மற்றும் மற்றுமொரு பாடத்தில் திறமைச் சித்திகளைப் பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டும்.
