Do Not Assign the Special Identity Number Immediately
When a student says that the National Identity Card has not yet been received, teachers should first check whether the student's official NIC Paper is already available online.
📢 GCE O/L Examination 2026 Application Notice
Applications have been called for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination 2026. Students are required to provide their National Identity Card Number when submitting the examination application.
The Department of Examinations has issued instructions for assigning a special identification number to students who have not received their National Identity Card.
However, teachers and school examination coordinators are advised not to assign the special identification number immediately when a student reports that the National Identity Card has not yet been received.
First, check whether the student's National Identity Card Paper has already been updated and made available online.

The following information is required to check and download the student's National Identity Card Paper:
NIC Application Number
The application reference number printed on the NIC application receipt or copy.
Registered Mobile Number
The mobile telephone number provided when applying for the National Identity Card.

- Ask the student whether an application for the National Identity Card has already been submitted.
- Obtain the NIC application reference number and the mobile number used for the application.
- Check whether the student's official NIC Paper is available through the online service.
- Download and print the available document.
- Provide a copy to the relevant student for future official and examination-related requirements.

- බාගත කළ ලේඛනය මුද්රණය කර අදාළ සිසුවාට ලබාදීමෙන් ඉදිරි නිල කටයුතු සඳහා භාවිත කළ හැක.
- க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சை 2026 விண்ணப்பத்தைச் சமர்ப்பிக்க மாணவர்களின் தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை இலக்கம் அவசியமாகும்.
- தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை இன்னும் கிடைக்கவில்லை என்று கூறும் மாணவர்களுக்கு உடனடியாக விசேட அடையாள இலக்கத்தை வழங்க வேண்டாம்.
- முதலில் மாணவரின் தேசிய அடையாள அட்டைத் தாள் இணையத்தில் பதிவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளதா என்பதைச் சரிபார்க்கவும்.
- இதற்காக தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை விண்ணப்ப இலக்கம் மற்றும் விண்ணப்பத்தின் போது வழங்கப்பட்ட தொலைபேசி இலக்கம் தேவைப்படும்.
- இணையத்தில் கிடைக்கும் ஆவணத்தைப் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்து அச்சிட்டு மாணவருக்கு வழங்கலாம். அதனை எதிர்கால உத்தியோகபூர்வ நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கும் பயன்படுத்த முடியும்.
