🌊 About the Diploma Programme

Applications are invited from eligible unmarried Sri Lankan candidates for admission to the Higher National Diploma in Irrigation Technology – 2026, conducted by the International Training Institute of Irrigation and Water Management, Kothmale.

The institute functions under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation and is registered with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

The programme is a three-year, full-time course consisting of a two-year residential academic training period, followed by a one-year field training period.

✅ Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be unmarried Sri Lankan citizens.
• Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in one sitting, with Credit Passes in Sinhala or Tamil, English Language, Mathematics and Science.
• Applicants must have passed three subjects from the Mathematics Stream of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in one sitting.
• Applicants must be under 25 years of age on the closing date for applications.
• Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.

📝 Recruitment and Selection Procedure

Candidates who satisfy the required qualifications will be selected through the following procedure:

📤 How to Submit the Application

1. Applications must be submitted through the official online application portal.
2. The application form must be completed in English Medium.
3. Applicants must upload scanned PDF copies of their G.C.E. O/L and G.C.E. A/L examination certificates.
4. A scanned PDF copy of the Birth Certificate must be uploaded to verify the applicant’s age.
5. Applicants should ensure that all information and uploaded documents are accurate before submitting the application.

⚠️ Special Conditions

• The training course will be conducted in English Medium.
• Expenses related to the academic programme will be borne by the Government of Sri Lanka, and residential facilities will be provided by the institute.
• Trainees must bear their own food, medical and other personal expenses during the training period.
• Selected trainees must sign an agreement to follow the discipline and ethics of the training institution and complete the full training period successfully.
• Selected applicants must undergo a medical examination and submit the completed medical form at registration.
• A trainee who leaves the programme before completing the training may be required to repay the expenses incurred by the Government.
• The Ministry and the training institute are not obliged to provide employment after completing the programme.
• Applicants must not be registered for another higher education course.
