The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has announced Open Recruitment for the Post of Fireman in the Fire Service Department. Applications are invited from eligible citizens who are permanent residents of the Western Province to fill 35 vacancies.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

Applicants must have passed:

• G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with 6 subjects

• Minimum 4 Credit passes

• Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics with Credit in one sitting

• Science and English passed in same or additional sitting

🎂 Age Limit

• Not below 18 years

• Not more than 24 years

📋 Other Requirements

✔ Height not less than 162 cm
✔ BMI between 18.5 – 24
✔ Physically and mentally fit
✔ Permanent resident of Western Province for 03 consecutive years
✔ Must be an unmarried male

📝 Recruitment Method

• Practical/Vocational Test

• Medical Examination

• Selected candidates will undergo 1 year training as Apprentice Firemen
