🎓 Required Qualifications

An applicant should have obtained at least one of the following qualifications:

✅ Passed the Catholic Daham Pasal Final Certificate Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.

✅ Passed the Dharmacharya Examination, Dharmacharya Special Examination or Honours in Dharmacharya Examination conducted by the National Catechetic Center.

✅ Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in three subjects, including either Christianity or Christian Civilization.

✅ Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination, including a Credit Pass in Catholicism in not more than two sittings, or obtained the equivalent specified qualification, together with at least one year of teaching experience in a Catechism School registered under the Department of Christian Religious Affairs.

📌 The relevant qualification should be certified by the Head Teacher of a Catechism School approved by the Department of Christian Religious Affairs or by the Parish Priest of the respective mission.

📝 How to Apply

Applications should be submitted through the Head of a registered Catechism School.

Application forms have been sent to Catechism Schools and can also be downloaded using the official Sinhala, Tamil and English PDF links provided below.

⚠️ Applicants are not permitted to apply privately as external candidates. However, a person who possesses the required qualifications may apply through the Catechism School nearest to his or her residence, subject to the prescribed conditions.

Candidates should pass all five subjects to complete the examination.

Examination centres are expected to be established according to the number of applicants. A centre may be cancelled where there are insufficient candidates, and candidates may then be directed to a nearby centre.

💰 සාමාන්‍ය විභාග ගාස්තුව රු. 200 වන අතර ප්‍රථම වරට විභාගයට පෙනී සිටින අයදුම්කරුවන් විභාග ගාස්තුවෙන් නිදහස් වේ.

இலங்கைப் பரீட்சைகள் திணைக்களத்தினால் கத்தோலிக்க மறை ஆசிரியர் சான்றிதழ் பரீட்சை – 2026 இற்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன.

🗓 பரீட்சை 2026 நவம்பர் மாதத்தில் நடைபெற ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

💰 பொதுவான பரீட்சைக் கட்டணம் ரூ. 200. முதல் தடவையாக பரீட்சைக்குத் தோற்றும் விண்ணப்பதாரர்களுக்கு பரீட்சைக் கட்டணம் விலக்களிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

📌 Hindu Dharmacharya Examination 2026 – Important Details

The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has called for applications for the Hindu Dharmacharya Certificate Examination – 2026.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted in November 2026 and will be held only in the Tamil medium.

📌 Applications should be submitted through the relevant Hindu Araneri School. Applicants are not permitted to sit the examination by applying directly as private/external candidates.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

An applicant should possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Passed the Araneri School Final Certificate Examination.
Obtained a Pandithar qualification.
Obtained a Saiva Pulavar qualification.
Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination with Hinduism or Hindu Civilization as one of the subjects.
Obtained a Credit Pass in Saivaneri and passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination within not more than two sittings.

⚠️ The Head/Principal of the relevant Araneri School must certify that the applicant possesses the required qualification.

📝 How to Apply

Individual candidates cannot apply directly as external candidates.
Eligible applicants should contact a nearby Hindu Araneri School.
Application forms are handled through the Heads of the relevant Araneri Schools.
Applications should be completed carefully using the details appearing in official certificates and identification documents.
Applications are prepared in two copies. The original is submitted to the Department of Examinations and the second copy is retained by the Araneri School.

💰 Examination Fees

🟢 First Attempt
Examination fee is not charged for eligible first-time candidates registered through the school.

🟡 Referred Subject
Rs. 50 for completing a referred subject.

🔵 Repeat / Applicable Candidates
Rs. 200 where the full examination fee is applicable.

🟣 Not Registered in School Register
Rs. 200 examination fee is applicable.

Where payment is required, the total fee should be paid at a Post Office under Department of Examinations Revenue Head 20-03-02-13, and the receipt should be attached to the application.

📖 Examination Structure

The examination consists of five question papers. Each paper is of three hours' duration and carries a total of 100 marks.

Part I: 20 questions × 2 marks = 40 marks
Part II: Answer 2 out of 4 questions = 30 marks
Part III: Answer 2 out of 4 questions = 30 marks

55 – 69 : C – Credit

Candidates are required to pass all five subjects. A candidate who fails only one subject may complete that referred subject according to the conditions given in the official notice.

🕉️ இந்து தர்மாசிரியர் பரீட்சை 2026 – முக்கிய விபரங்கள்

இலங்கைப் பரீட்சைத் திணைக்களத்தினால் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான இந்து தர்மாசிரியர் பரீட்சைக்கு விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன.

இப்பரீட்சை 2026 நவம்பர் மாதம் நடத்தப்படவுள்ளதுடன், தமிழ் மொழிமூலத்தில் மாத்திரம் நடைபெறும்.

📌 விண்ணப்பதாரர்கள் தனிப்பட்ட வெளிவாரி விண்ணப்பதாரர்களாக நேரடியாக விண்ணப்பிக்க முடியாது. தகுதியுடையவர்கள் அருகிலுள்ள அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை ஊடாக விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும்.

✅ விண்ணப்பிப்பதற்கான தகைமைகள்

கீழே குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள தகைமைகளில் ஏதேனும் ஒரு தகைமையையேனும் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.

அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை இறுதிச் சான்றிதழ்ப் பரீட்சையில் சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.
பண்டிதர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருத்தல்.
சைவப்புலவர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருத்தல்.
க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரீட்சையில் இந்துசமயம் அல்லது இந்துநாகரிகம் ஆகியவற்றில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை ஒரு பாடமாகக் கொண்டு சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.
சைவநெறிப் பாடத்தில் திறமைச் சித்தி பெற்றிருப்பதுடன், இரு அமர்வுகளுக்கு மேற்படாமல் க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சையில் 06 பாடங்களில் சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.

⚠️ விண்ணப்பதாரர் மேற்குறித்த தகைமையைக் கொண்டுள்ளார் என்பதை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அறநெறிப் பாடசாலைத் தலைமை ஆசிரியர் உறுதிப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

📝 விண்ணப்பிக்கும் முறை

நேரடியாக வெளிவாரி விண்ணப்பதாரராக விண்ணப்பிக்க முடியாது.
தகுதியுடையவர்கள் தாம் வசிக்கும் இடத்திற்கு அருகிலுள்ள அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை ஊடாக விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
விண்ணப்பங்கள் அறநெறிப் பாடசாலைத் தலைமை ஆசிரியர்களின் ஊடாக சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
விண்ணப்பப்படிவத்தில் பெயர் உள்ளிட்ட விபரங்கள் பிறப்புச் சான்றிதழ் மற்றும் உத்தியோகபூர்வ ஆவணங்களுடன் பொருந்துமாறு சரியாக நிரப்பப்பட வேண்டும்.
விண்ணப்பம் இரண்டு பிரதிகளாக பூரணப்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். மூலப் பிரதி பரீட்சைத் திணைக்களத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்படுவதுடன் இரண்டாம் பிரதி அறநெறிப் பாடசாலையில் வைத்திருக்கப்படும்.

🟢 முதல் தடவை பரீட்சைக்குத் தோற்றுபவர்கள்
விதிகளுக்கு உட்பட்டு பரீட்சைக் கட்டணத்திலிருந்து விலக்களிக்கப்படுவர்.

🟡 நூனசித்திப் பாடத்தைப் பூரணப்படுத்துதல்
கட்டணம் ரூ. 50.00

🔵 முழுப் பரீட்சைக் கட்டணம் பொருந்தும் சந்தர்ப்பம்
ரூ. 200.00

🟣 பாடசாலைப் பதிவில் பெயர் இல்லாத விண்ணப்பதாரர்
ரூ. 200.00 கட்டணம் பொருந்தும்.

கட்டணம் செலுத்த வேண்டிய சந்தர்ப்பங்களில், பரீட்சைத் திணைக்களத்தின் வருமானத் தலைப்பு இலக்கம் 20-03-02-13 இற்கு நாட்டின் எந்தவொரு தபால் நிலையத்திலும் பணம் செலுத்தி பற்றுச்சீட்டைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

பகுதி II: 4 வினாக்களில் 2 வினாக்களுக்கு விடையளித்தல் – 30 புள்ளிகள்
பகுதி III: 4 வினாக்களில் 2 வினாக்களுக்கு விடையளித்தல் – 30 புள்ளிகள்

The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has invited applications for the Hindu Daham Pasal Final Certificate Examination 2026, also referred to as the Araneri Schools Final Certificate Examination.

The examination is expected to be conducted in October 2026. Applications will be accepted from 24 July 2026 to 24 August 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants should possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Have passed Grade 10 at an Araneri School conducted or registered under the Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs and completed the Final Certificate class either fully or partly.
Have passed Hinduism as a subject at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.

03 – Hindu Literature
04 – Hinduism: A Way of Life / Practice of Religion

Examination Fee

Applicants appearing for the first time are exempted from the examination fee.
The general examination fee is Rs. 200.
External applicants should pay Rs. 200.
The fee for completing a previously referred subject is Rs. 50.
The applicable fee should be paid through a post office under Revenue Head 20-03-02-13.
The original payment receipt should be attached to the application.
Payment by stamps or money orders is not accepted.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the relevant registered Araneri School.
Private or external applicants cannot apply directly to the Department of Examinations.
Eligible external applicants should apply through the Araneri School nearest to their place of residence.
The application should be completed in duplicate.
The original application should be sent to the Department of Examinations, while the duplicate should be retained by the Head of the Araneri School.
The Head of the Araneri School must sign the application and place the institution’s official stamp.
Applicants requiring special facilities should clearly mention their requirements and attach copies of the relevant medical certificates.
Applications should be sent by registered post early enough to reach the Department before the closing date.

An applicant must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:

Have passed Grade 10 at an Ahadhiyya school registered with the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs and have studied for at least one year in the Final Certificate class; or
Have passed Islam as a subject at the G.C.E. O/L or G.C.E. A/L Examination; or
Have passed Islam and Arabic at the Senior School Certificate Examination.

Important: Candidates cannot apply directly as private/external applicants. Applications must be submitted through the Principal of a registered Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal or Arabic College.

Examination Fee

First-time candidates: No examination fee.
Other eligible candidates: Rs. 200.
Under-pass candidates: Rs. 50 per subject.

The Principal must collect applicable fees and pay them through a post office to Revenue Head 20-03-02-13. The receipt must be attached to the application.

How to Apply

Obtain the application through the registered Ahadhiyya Daham Pasal or Arabic College, or download it with the official notice below.
Complete two copies. The original must be sent to the Department of Examinations and the second copy retained by the Principal.
The candidate must check and sign the completed information. Both copies must be signed by the Principal.
If the school or college is newly registered, attach a copy of its registration certificate.
Candidates with special needs must state this in the application and attach copies of the relevant medical certificates.
Send the completed application by registered post on or before 24 August 2026.

Examination & Results

The examination consists of four papers, each carrying 100 marks.
Candidates must pass all four subjects to obtain a full pass.
A candidate failing only one subject is treated as an under-pass candidate and must pass that subject within the next two consecutive examinations.
Acceptable identity documents include the National Identity Card, a valid passport, or a valid Sri Lankan driving licence.
