Applications are invited for the Diploma in Library and Information Science (DLIS) conducted by the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA).

📌 Entry Requirements

Applicants must fulfill one of the following:

1. A Degree in any subject from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

OR

2. (i) G.C.E. (A/L) in three subjects in one sitting
   AND
   (ii) G.C.E. (O/L) passes in six subjects at one sitting with three credits including First Language, and passes in English and Mathematics

OR

3. Not less than 03 years of experience in permanent service in a recognized library and must have completed requirement 2(ii) above.

Medium:

• Sinhala, Tamil, and English

• Distance course – Sinhala only

💰 Course Methodology and Fee

The course is conducted in two modes and applicants may apply only under one mode:

1. Online & Classroom (held on Sundays) – Rs. 35,000/-

2. Distance (Postal) Course + Seminar (Sinhala Medium Only) – Rs. 35,000/-

📈 Higher Education Opportunities

• Eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma Course at the National Institute of Library and Information Science (NILIS), University of Colombo, after three years of satisfactory experience.

• Qualification for admission to the Bachelor of Library Science Degree Course of the Open University of Sri Lanka.

2. Application fee of Rs. 1,000/- should be deposited to any branch of the Bank of Ceylon to Account Number: 0002323087 (SLLA).
