Educational Qualifications

Should have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects, including Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Should possess a certificate for not less than 1,000 Horse Power or 750 KW issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping of Sri Lanka under the 1907 Launch Ordinance.

Should possess a National Certificate of Technology in the Mechanical or Shipping sector.

Alternatively, applicants may possess a relevant three-year full-time certificate issued by a government, industrial or vocational training institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

A relevant NVQ Level 4 certificate or an equivalent accepted qualification may also be considered.

Required Experience

Applicants should possess three years of experience as an Assistant Head Driver (Dredger).

The experience should have been obtained in a government institution or a recognized private institution in a similar position.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Good knowledge of equipment used in tugs or dredgers and their repairs.

Knowledge of standard nautical knots, mooring procedures and boating skills.

Applicants must successfully complete the required training courses within one year after recruitment.

General Conditions

Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post and serve in any part of Sri Lanka.

Applicants should possess an excellent character.

Selected applicants may be required to pass a medical examination.

This is a permanent post carrying Employees’ Provident Fund and Employees’ Trust Fund benefits.

The age limit will not apply to applicants currently serving in the government service.

Government and state corporation employees should forward their applications through the respective Heads of Departments or Corporations.

Vacancy Announcement

The Sri Lanka Ports Authority invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the post of Programmer – Junior Level Management.

Candidates who possess the required Information Technology qualifications and professional experience may submit their applications before the closing date.

Educational Qualifications

A Degree in Information Technology from a recognized university.

A Degree from a recognized university together with a Diploma in Information Technology from a recognized professional institution.
The duration of the Information Technology Diploma must be at least one year.

Information Technology includes areas such as Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Management Information Systems.

Required Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position.
The experience should have been obtained from a reputed public or private sector organization.

Salary and Remuneration

Salary Category: 5.0 – Junior Level Management
Basic Salary: Rs. 75,065 per month
Annual Increment: Rs. 1,440
Approximate Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 170,000, inclusive of allowances

Age Limit

Applicants should be below 45 years of age on the closing date.

The age limit does not apply to applicants currently serving in Government Departments or State Corporations.

Service Conditions

Selected candidates must comply with all existing and future rules and regulations of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
Selected candidates may be required to serve in any division or section of the Authority.
Candidates may also be required to serve in any part of Sri Lanka according to the requirements of the Authority.
