Project Manager and Engineering Assistant Positions
Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited has invited online applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for project-related vacancies connected with major petroleum infrastructure projects. Available positions include Project Manager, Engineering Assistant (Civil), and Engineering Assistant (Mechanical).

Project Manager – KHPP
Kolonnawa to Harbour Pipeline Project
Required Qualifications
- BSc Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in large-scale onshore and offshore petroleum pipeline projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of FIDIC Silver Book or similar EPC/EPCC contract conditions.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM and other relevant pipeline standards.
- Project planning and control experience using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Sound understanding of HSE and QA/QC management systems.
Added Advantages
- Corporate or Chartered Engineer status such as CEng or IESL.
- Project Management Professional certification or an equivalent qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Pipeline Engineering or Offshore Engineering.
- Strong English communication, negotiation, leadership and report-writing skills.

Engineering Assistant – Civil
Major construction and storage terminal projects
Required Qualifications
- National Diploma in Technology – Civil, or
- Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering, or
- National Diploma in Engineering Sciences – Civil, or
- NVQ Level 5 in Civil Engineering, or
- An equivalent qualification recognized in Sri Lanka.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum five years of experience in industrial construction projects.
- Ability to interpret civil and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of surveying, levelling, concreting and construction quality control.
- Computer literacy in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Petroleum terminal, tank farm, oil and gas project experience will be an added advantage.

Engineering Assistant – Mechanical
Petroleum storage tanks, piping and mechanical works
Required Qualifications
- National Diploma in Technology – Mechanical, or
- Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or
- National Diploma in Engineering Sciences – Mechanical, or
- NVQ Level 5 in Mechanical Engineering, or
- An equivalent qualification recognized in Sri Lanka.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum five years of experience in industrial construction projects.
- Ability to understand mechanical and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of welding processes and Non-Destructive Testing.
- Familiarity with API requirements for fuel storage tank construction.
- Computer literacy in AutoCAD and MS Office.
Contract Periods for Engineering Assistants
The appointment period will depend on the relevant project: 22 months for the 6-Tanks Project, 14 months for KHPP, or 19 months for the 3-Tanks Project. Renewal will depend on project requirements and satisfactory performance.
Important Service Conditions
- The maximum age limit is 65 years as at the application closing date.
- The company will contribute 15% of the salary to EPF, while the employee must contribute 10%.
- The company will contribute 3% of the salary to ETF.
- All required qualifications must be completed by the closing date.
- Applicants must produce the relevant original certificates when requested.
- Only shortlisted applicants may be called for the next stage of selection.
- A selection test may be conducted if required.
