2027 KOICA CIAT Scholarship Programme

Master’s and Doctoral degree scholarship opportunities in the Republic of Korea for eligible public officials of the Government of Sri Lanka.

⏰ Closing: 2.00 p.m. – 06 July 2026

The Department of External Resources has invited nominations from eligible Sri Lankan government officers for the 2027 KOICA CIAT Scholarship Programme.

A total of 15 degree programmes are available in fields including public management, digital innovation, health, fisheries, agriculture, climate change, social economy and economic development.

Applications should be forwarded through the relevant ministry or institution according to the instructions contained in the official invitation letter for the selected programme.

📌 Important Application Instructions

  • The opportunities are intended for eligible public officials of the Government of Sri Lanka.
  • Applicants must carefully check the eligibility requirements, scholarship coverage and selection procedure in the relevant programme guidelines.
  • Applications should be submitted with a nomination or approval letter from the relevant line ministry.
  • Submit the completed KOICA application, supporting documents, relevant passport pages and the completed ERD application form.
  • Each ministry is generally requested to submit one or a maximum of two suitable applications for a programme.
  • Applications accepted by ERD will still be subject to the final selection process conducted by KOICA, the Korean Embassy and the relevant university.
  • Applicants are advised to submit complete applications as early as possible due to the limited number of nomination slots.
Incomplete or late applications may not be considered. A programme may close before the stated deadline once the available nomination quota has been filled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish regional sales targets, supervise sales activities and implement strategies to increase sales, income and profitability.

  • Supervise shop managers and outlet teams while promoting excellent customer service and continuous staff development.
  • Monitor budgets, control operational expenses and use available resources effectively.

  • Act as the responsible custodian of the stock assigned to the outlet.
  • Ensure proper ordering, receiving, storage, display and issuing of products according to FIFO procedures.
  • Minimise stock shortages, damages, wastage and expired stock.
  • Maintain smooth daily operations and a clean, organised and customer-friendly outlet.
  • Safeguard company assets, manage cash operations and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Supervise, train and develop employees while maintaining discipline and productivity.

  • Assist customers with product selection and purchasing.

Contract Periods for Engineering Assistants

The appointment period will depend on the relevant project: 22 months for the 6-Tanks Project, 14 months for KHPP, or 19 months for the 3-Tanks Project. Renewal will depend on project requirements and satisfactory performance.

  • The company will contribute 15% of the salary to EPF, while the employee must contribute 10%.

  • Plan and deliver coaching programmes for players and teams within the assigned Super Province, Province or District.
  • Prepare teams for domestic competitions and assigned tournaments.
  • Develop and monitor individual player development plans.
  • Identify and nurture emerging talent and support player progression within the national pathway.
  • Foster a positive, player-centred and high-performance environment.
  • Work closely with schools, clubs, provincial associations and other stakeholders to promote cricket development.
  • Ensure alignment with Sri Lanka Cricket's coaching philosophy and performance objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Level 3 Coaching Qualification for Super Province positions.
  • Level 2 Coaching Qualification for Province, District and Specialized Coach positions.
  • First-Class or International playing experience.
  • Experience in coaching elite domestic, pathway, school, club or development programmes.
  • Demonstrable coaching experience with individuals and teams.
  • Sound understanding of player development and talent identification.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
