Have the applicant's signature certified.
Obtain the required certification from the Zonal Director of Education.
One copy should be placed in the officer's personal file.
The other copy should be kept by the applicant for submission when required.

👩‍🏫 Who Should Apply?

This examination is applicable to relevant officers of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service and teachers serving under the Provincial Public Service.

Officers promoted to Class 2 – Grade I are required to complete the Third Efficiency Bar Examination before the completion of four years from that promotion.

In addition, teachers who have already exceeded four years after promotion to Grade 2-I but whose promotion to Grade I falls after 30 June 2025 are also required to complete the Third Efficiency Bar requirement for promotion to Grade I.

About the Examination

Applications are invited for the Efficiency Bar Examinations for Authorized Officers serving in Grade I and Grade II of the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

The examinations will be conducted in Colombo during 2026 by the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, commonly known as SLIDA.

Eligible officers may sit all prescribed subjects at one sitting or sit individual subjects separately.

Prepare the application according to the specimen form included in the Gazette notification.
The application must be prepared using both sides of an A4-size paper.
Sections 01 to 07 should appear on the first page, with the remaining sections on the second page.
Applications may be typed or clearly completed in the applicant’s own handwriting.
Applications must be forwarded through the relevant Sectional Head.
Applications must be sent by registered post or handed over directly to the relevant officer at the Administration Branch.

🇬🇧 Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service II Efficiency Bar Examination – 2026

The Gazette notification relating to the Second Efficiency Bar Examination for officers of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service serving in national and provincial schools throughout the country was published on 17 July 2026. The examination is scheduled to be held in September 2026.

Applications can be submitted online through the official website of the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka, from 20 July 2026 to 10 August 2026.

Teachers who were promoted to Grade 2-II, or teachers who were initially recruited to Grade 3 of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service and subsequently appointed to Grade 2-II, must complete the Second Efficiency Bar Examination before completing four years of service in Grade 2-II.

Teachers directly recruited to Grade 2-II based on a Bachelor of Education degree are excluded from this particular requirement.

Teachers who had not completed the Second Efficiency Bar Examination by 30 June 2025, but were promoted to Grade 2-I subject to completing the requirement, must also complete the examination in order to qualify for further promotion to Grade I of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service.

📚 Syllabus and Self-Study Modules The syllabus for the relevant self-study modules has been published on the Ministry of Education’s official e-Thaksalawa website, as specified in the Gazette notification.

Candidates are encouraged to follow the self-study method and study the subject content provided under the Second Efficiency Bar Examination course on e-Thaksalawa before sitting for the examination.

🇱🇰 ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවයේ II කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය – 2026

දිවයිනේ ජාතික හා පළාත් පාසල්වල සේවයේ නියුතු ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවයේ නිලධාරීන් සඳහා 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේ පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත II කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගයට අදාළ ගැසට් නිවේදනය 2026.07.17 දින පළ කර ඇත.

මෙම විභාගය සඳහා අයදුම්පත් 2026.07.20 සිට 2026.08.10 දක්වා ශ්‍රී ලංකා විභාග දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිල වෙබ් අඩවිය ඔස්සේ මාර්ගගතව යොමු කළ හැකිය.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවයේ 2-II ශ්‍රේණියට අධ්‍යාපනවේදී උපාධිය මත සෘජුව බඳවාගත් ගුරුවරුන් හැර, එම ශ්‍රේණියට උසස්වීම් ලද හෝ ගුරු සේවයේ 3 ශ්‍රේණියට බඳවා ගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව 2-II ශ්‍රේණියට පත් කරන ලද ගුරුවරුන්, 2-II ශ්‍රේණියේ වසර හතරක සේවා කාලය සම්පූර්ණ වීමට පෙර මෙම II කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය සම්පූර්ණ කළ යුතුය.

තවද, 2025.06.30 දිනට පෙර II කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය සම්පූර්ණ නොකළ නමුත්, එම අවශ්‍යතාව සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමට යටත්ව 2-I ශ්‍රේණියට උසස් කරන ලද ගුරුවරුන් ගුරු සේවයේ 1 ශ්‍රේණියට තවදුරටත් උසස්වීම් ලැබීම සඳහා ද මෙම විභාගය සම්පූර්ණ කිරීම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වේ.

📚 විෂය නිර්දේශය සහ ස්වයං අධ්‍යයන මොඩියුල විභාගයට අදාළ ස්වයං අධ්‍යයන මොඩියුලයන්හි විෂය නිර්දේශය, ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සඳහන් පරිදි අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශයේ නිල e-Thaksalawa වෙබ් අඩවියේ පළ කර ඇත.

විභාග අපේක්ෂකයින්ට ස්වයං අධ්‍යයන ක්‍රමවේදය නිර්දේශ කරනු ලබන අතර, e-Thaksalawa වෙබ් අඩවියේ II කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය යටතේ ලබාදී ඇති විෂය කරුණු අධ්‍යයනය කර විභාගයට පෙනී සිටීමට දිරිමත් කරනු ලැබේ.

நாட்டின் தேசிய மற்றும் மாகாணப் பாடசாலைகளில் கடமையாற்றும் இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவை உத்தியோகத்தர்களுக்காக 2026 செப்டம்பர் மாதம் நடத்தப்படவுள்ள IIஆம் வினைத்திறன்காண் தடைதாண்டல் பரீட்சைக்கான வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தல் 2026.07.17 அன்று வெளியிடப்பட்டது.

இப்பரீட்சைக்கான விண்ணப்பங்களை இலங்கைப் பரீட்சைகள் திணைக்களத்தின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ இணையத்தளத்தின் ஊடாக 2026.07.20 முதல் 2026.08.10 வரை இணையவழியில் சமர்ப்பிக்கலாம்.

இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவையின் 2-II தரத்திற்கு இளங்கலைக் கல்வியியல் பட்டத்தின் அடிப்படையில் நேரடியாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள் தவிர்ந்த, அத்தரத்திற்குப் பதவியுயர்வு பெற்ற அல்லது இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவையின் 3ஆம் தரத்திற்குச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டதன் பின்னர் 2-II தரத்திற்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள், 2-II தரத்தில் நான்கு ஆண்டுகள் சேவையை நிறைவு செய்வதற்கு முன்னர் இந்த IIஆம் வினைத்திறன்காண் தடைதாண்டல் பரீட்சையைப் பூர்த்தி செய்ய வேண்டும்.

📚 பாடத்திட்டம் மற்றும் சுயகற்றல் மொடியூல்கள் இப்பரீட்சைக்குரிய சுயகற்றல் மொடியூல்களின் பாடத்திட்டங்கள், வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தலில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டவாறு கல்வி அமைச்சின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ e-Thaksalawa இணையத்தளத்தில் பதிவேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளன.

First Efficiency Bar Examination – Main Information

The Gazette notification relating to the First Efficiency Bar Examination for officers of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service serving in national and provincial schools is published on 19 June 2026.

The examination is scheduled to be held in September 2026. Eligible teachers may submit their applications online through the official website of the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.

Online applications will be accepted from 22 June 2026 to 17 July 2026.

👩‍🏫 Who Should Sit the First Efficiency Bar Examination?

The First Efficiency Bar Examination is applicable to teachers appointed or directly recruited to the following grades of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service:

Class 3 – Grade II
Class 3 – Grade I
Teachers directly recruited to Class 2 – Grade II

Required study components: Candidates appearing for the First Efficiency Bar Examination are required to study four modules.

📚 Three Efficiency Bar Examinations for Teachers

Teachers are required to complete three Efficiency Bar Examinations for their relevant grade promotions. The three examinations cover a total of 10 modules.

First Efficiency Bar

Applicable to Class 3 Grade II, Class 3 Grade I and eligible teachers directly recruited to Class 2 Grade II.

4 Modules

Second Efficiency Bar

Applicable to teachers appointed to Class 2 Grade II, Step 1 and Class 2 Grade II, Step 3.

3 Modules

Third Efficiency Bar

Applicable to teachers serving in Class 2 Grade I of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service.

3 Modules

⚠ Important:

The Gazette notification published on 19 June 2026 applies only to the First Efficiency Bar Examination.

Gazette notifications for the Second and Third Efficiency Bar Examinations are expected to be published separately in the future.

📝 Examination Paper Structure

According to the amended Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service Minute, the written examination for each Efficiency Bar will consist of the following two papers:

Paper I Multiple Choice Questions
Duration: 1 Hour
Marks: 40

Paper II Structured or Semi-Structured Questions
Duration: 2 Hours
Marks: 60

💻 Syllabus and Self-Study Materials

As these Efficiency Bar Examinations are being conducted for the first time under the revised arrangement, the relevant syllabus and learning materials will be uploaded to the official e-thaksalawa website of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.

Candidates are advised to study independently and regularly check the e-thaksalawa platform for modules, lessons and other examination-related learning resources that may be published.

ජාතික හා පළාත් පාසල්වල සේවය කරන ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවයේ නිලධාරීන් සඳහා වන පළමු කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

අදාළ ගැසට් නිවේදනය 2026 ජූනි 19 දින නිකුත් කරන අතර, මාර්ගගත අයදුම්පත් 2026 ජූනි 22 සිට 2026 ජූලි 17 දක්වා ශ්‍රී ලංකා විභාග දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිල වෙබ් අඩවිය හරහා ඉදිරිපත් කළ හැකිය.

මෙම පළමු කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගය ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුරු සේවයේ 3 පන්තියේ II ශ්‍රේණිය, 3 පන්තියේ I ශ්‍රේණිය සහ 2 පන්තියේ II ශ්‍රේණියට සෘජුව බඳවාගත් අදාළ ගුරුවරුන්ට අදාළ වේ. ඔවුන් මොඩියුල හතරක් අධ්‍යයනය කළ යුතුය.

2026 ජූනි 19 දින නිකුත් වන ගැසට් නිවේදනය පළමු කාර්යක්ෂමතා කඩඉම් විභාගයට පමණක් අදාළ වේ. දෙවන හා තෙවන විභාග සඳහා නිවේදන පසුව නිකුත් කිරීමට නියමිතය.

தமிழ்ச் சுருக்கம்

தேசிய மற்றும் மாகாண பாடசாலைகளில் கடமையாற்றும் இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவை அதிகாரிகளுக்கான முதலாவது வினைத்திறன்காண் தடைதாண்டல் பரீட்சை 2026 செப்டம்பர் மாதம் நடைபெறவுள்ளது.

இதற்கான வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தல் 2026 ஜூன் 19 அன்று வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. விண்ணப்பங்களை 2026 ஜூன் 22 முதல் 2026 ஜூலை 17 வரை இலங்கைப் பரீட்சைகள் திணைக்களத்தின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ இணையத்தளம் ஊடாக ஆன்லைனில் சமர்ப்பிக்கலாம்.

ஆசிரியர் சேவையின் 3 ஆம் வகுப்பு II ஆம் தரம், 3 ஆம் வகுப்பு I ஆம் தரம் மற்றும் 2 ஆம் வகுப்பு II ஆம் தரத்திற்கு நேரடியாக ஆட்சேர்ப்பு செய்யப்பட்ட தகுதியான ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு முதலாவது வினைத்திறன்காண் தடைதாண்டல் பரீட்சை பொருந்தும். இவர்கள் நான்கு தொகுதிகளைக் கற்க வேண்டும்.

2026 ஜூன் 19 அன்று வெளியாகும் வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தல் முதலாவது வினைத்திறன்காண் தடைதாண்டல் பரீட்சைக்கு மட்டுமே பொருந்தும். இரண்டாவது மற்றும் மூன்றாவது பரீட்சைகளுக்கான அறிவித்தல்கள் எதிர்காலத்தில் தனியாக வெளியிடப்படும்.

Efficiency Bar (EB) Examination 2024(11) – Applications Called for PL1, PL2 & Skilled Employees | Apply Before 31.05.2025

Applications are now being called for the Efficiency Bar (EB) Examination 2024(11) for Primary Non-Skilled (PL1), Primary Semi-Skilled (PL2), and Primary Skilled Employees under the Ministry of Education. Eligible employees including new appointees and those who have missed or failed previous attempts are encouraged to apply before the deadline. Complete details including eligibility, exemptions, syllabus, and application forms are provided below in Sinhala and Tamil.
