📌 Examination Purpose

The Department of Official Languages is calling applications for the Official Languages Proficiency Oral Examination. This examination is conducted to assess oral communication skills in Sinhala and Tamil as second languages.

✅ Eligibility

Only officers who have passed Sinhala or Tamil as a Second Language at G.C.E. O/L are eligible.
The application form must be completed in English.
Teachers and Principals can apply according to their relevant level.

💰 Examination Fees

Level I

Rs. 2,000

📄 Important Instructions

Oral examinations are conducted twice each year.
Admission card signature must be certified by the Head of Institution.
Bank receipt must be presented during the assessment.

Results will be published on the Department of Official Languages website.

Difficult School Allowance Increased 2026 – Principals & Teachers Circular

Difficult School Allowance Circular 2026 for Principals and Teachers Sri Lanka

Ministry of Education has issued Circular No. 2006/44(i) regarding the financial incentive for principals and teachers serving in difficult and very difficult schools. According to the circular, the revised monthly allowance will be paid with effect from 01 April 2026.
