🇬🇧 Homoeopathy Medical Degree Scholarship 2026/2027

Applications are invited by the Indigenous Medicine Section of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media for the selection of suitable candidates for scholarships to follow the Homoeopathy Medical Degree Course for the academic year 2026/2027.

Ten Sri Lankan students will be selected to study at the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Kolkata, under the sponsorship of the Government of India.

The course duration is 5½ years. After successfully completing the course and registering with the Homoeopathy Medical Council, graduates may practise as qualified Homoeopathy Medical Practitioners.

✅ Required Qualifications

Passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the Science stream at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in one sitting.
Passed General English at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Obtained a Credit Pass for English Language at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age as at 25.09.2026.

The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Legal Officer on a part-time assignment basis. The selected officer will provide legal assistance to the Head of the Legal Unit of the SLMC.

Required Qualifications

Must have been sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law (AAL) in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
A recognized Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or other postgraduate qualifications will be considered added qualifications.

Required Experience

At least three years of active professional and prosecutorial experience after being sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law; or
At least three years of experience in a legal post involving prosecutions in a state institution after being sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law.

Employment Terms

Appointment: Part-time assignment for one year.
May be extended for a further year with Council approval.
Work schedule: Two days per week, up to eight days per month.
Salary and other emoluments will be determined by the SLMC.
Age: Must not be over 60 years on the closing date.

Main Duties

Conduct disciplinary prosecutions, including evidence, cross-examination, re-examination and closing submissions.
Assist with legal and legislative matters connected with the SLMC.
Handle RTI applications and complaints received by the Council.
Attend to assigned correspondence and other legal duties.

Service and grade: Sri Lanka Foreign Service - Grade III
Number of vacancies: 25
Recruitment method: Written examination and interview for eligibility assessment, followed by selection in merit order.
Nature of post: Permanent and pensionable, subject to the conditions stated in the official notice.
Probation: Three years.
Salary scale: Rs. 82,150 - 10 x 2,400 - 8 x 2,940 - 17 x 3,900 - Rs. 195,970 (SL-1-2025), monthly.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a degree from a foreign or state university recognized by the University Grants Commission, a degree awarded by a university established by an Act of Parliament in Sri Lanka, or a degree recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978.

Age Limit as at 06 October 2026

General applicants: Must have attained 22 years and must not have attained 28 years. Eligible dates of birth are from 06 October 1998 to 06 October 2004, inclusive.
Confirmed Public/Provincial Public Service officers: Must not have attained 35 years and must have been born on or after 06 October 1991, with a satisfactory service record.

Other Main Conditions

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka and of excellent character.
Must be physically and mentally fit to serve in Sri Lanka or anywhere in the world.
A person ordained in a religious order is not eligible.
A person may sit this recruitment examination on no more than three occasions.
All required qualifications must be satisfied by the closing date.

The examination is available in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Applicants must sit all papers in the medium selected in the application.

Application Deadline: 15 October 2026 Duly completed annual transfer applications should be submitted to the relevant authority before the deadline.

English Summary

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued the annual transfer procedure for officers in Grades I, II and III of the Sri Lanka Accountants’ Service for 2027.

Officers who may be compulsorily transferred include:

Officers who have served at the same service station for six years or more.
Officers who have completed a total of five years in the Sri Lanka Police or hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
Officers who have completed a maximum total period of 12 years in a ministry, department or provincial council, subject to the provisions of the circular.
Officers who have completed 12 years in a ministry, department, district secretariat or provincial council located outside the Colombo District.
Officers who have completed the maximum three-year service period at a designated popular service station.

Other officers requesting a transfer should generally have completed at least two years at their present service station.

விண்ணப்பப் படிவங்கள், மேன்முறையீட்டு படிவங்கள் மற்றும் முழுமையான நிபந்தனைகளை அறிய கீழேயுள்ள உத்தியோகபூர்வ சுற்றறிக்கையைப் பதிவிறக்கம் செய்து வாசிக்கவும்.
