The Public Service Commission has issued an amendment to the notification titled Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service – 2026, originally published in Gazette Extraordinary No. 2505 dated 4 September 2026.

The amendment introduces changes to the age requirement and application period.

1. Revised Age Requirements

For General Applicants

Applicants must be not less than 22 years and not more than 35 years of age as at 6 October 2026.

Eligible Date of Birth:
From 6 October 1991 to 6 October 2004, both dates inclusive.

For Permanent Government Employees

The maximum age limit is 40 years.

Accordingly, applicants must have been born on or after 6 October 1986.

Such applicants must also possess a satisfactory service record.

2. Revised Application Period

Particulars	Amended Details
Application Opening	19 October 2026, 9:00 AM
Application Closing	30 October 2026, 9:00 PM
Age & Qualification Reference Date	6 October 2026 (Unchanged)

3. Other Conditions

All other provisions in the original Gazette notification remain unchanged.

Important: The date used for assessing eligibility remains 6 October 2026, despite the extension of the application deadline.

Candidates are advised to refer to the official Gazette amendment and original recruitment announcement before applying.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා විදේශ සේවයේ III ශ්‍රේණියට බඳවා ගැනීමේ විවෘත තරග විභාගය – 2026 සම්බන්ධ ගැසට් නිවේදනය සංශෝධනය කර ඇත.

2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 04 දිනැති අංක 2505 දරන ගැසට් පත්‍රයේ පළ කළ නිවේදනයට අදාළව මෙම සංශෝධනය නිකුත් කර ඇත.

📌 වයස් සීමාව

2026.10.06 දිනට වයස අවුරුදු 22ට නොඅඩු සහ 35ට නොවැඩි විය යුතුය.

ඒ අනුව 1991.10.06 දින හෝ ඉන්පසු සහ 2004.10.06 දින හෝ ඊට පෙර උපන් අය අයදුම් කිරීමට සුදුසුකම් ලබයි.

ස්ථිර රාජ්‍ය සේවකයින් සඳහා:

උපරිම වයස් සීමාව අවුරුදු 40 කි.

இலங்கை வெளிநாட்டுச் சேவையின் தரம் III இற்கு ஆட்சேர்ப்பு செய்வதற்கான திறந்த போட்டிப் பரீட்சை – 2026 தொடர்பான வர்த்தமானி அறிவித்தலில் திருத்தங்கள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன.

2026 செப்டெம்பர் 04 ஆம் திகதிய 2505 ஆம் இலக்க வர்த்தமானியில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட அறிவித்தலுக்கான திருத்தம் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Important information has been shared regarding the interviews for recruiting graduates to Grade 3-I (a) of the Sri Lanka Teachers' Service.

The recruitment concerns graduates who are currently employed in the public service as well as those who are not employed in the public service.

These recruitments are intended to fill teaching vacancies in National and Provincial Schools across Sri Lanka in the Sinhala, Tamil and English media.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) invite applications for the award of scholarships to eligible children of Sri Lankan migrant workers for 2026.

These scholarships are available to children of migrant workers who are currently employed abroad or have returned to Sri Lanka, provided that the relevant parent was registered with the SLBFE and meets the specified eligibility conditions.

📘 A. Grade 5 Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant's mother or father must have been registered with the SLBFE and employed abroad between 10.08.2020 and 10.08.2025.
The student must have passed the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination held in 2025.
The student must have obtained the relevant district cut-off marks.

Applicant's original Birth Certificate.
Original Grade 5 Scholarship Examination Certificate issued by the Department of Examinations.
Bio-data page of the passport of the expatriate mother or father.

📌 Certified photocopies of the Birth Certificate and Grade 5 Examination Certificate must also be forwarded by registered post to the address given below. They must be certified by the school Principal or a Justice of the Peace. Write the online application Reference Number clearly on the top-right corner of each document.

📗 B. G.C.E. Ordinary Level Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant's mother or father must have been registered with the SLBFE and employed abroad between 17.03.2020 and 17.03.2025.
The applicant must have passed at least six subjects, including Mathematics, at the G.C.E. O/L Examination relevant to 2024 (held in 2025).
The applicant must currently be studying for the G.C.E. A/L Examination and have passes in three subjects.

Documents Required for Upload

Applicant's original Birth Certificate.
Original G.C.E. O/L Examination Certificate issued by the Department of Examinations.
Applicant's National Identity Card.
Bio-data page of the passport of the expatriate mother or father.

📙 C. G.C.E. Advanced Level Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant's mother or father must have been registered with the SLBFE between 25.11.2019 and 25.11.2024 and must have been employed abroad.
The applicant must have passed the G.C.E. A/L Examination relevant to 2024.
The applicant must be following a full-time degree programme at a government university or a private university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), or be following a diploma course of at least two years' duration at a National Technical College or another government educational institution.

Original G.C.E. A/L Examination Certificate issued by the Department of Examinations.
Applicant's National Identity Card.
Letter confirming studentship issued by the Registrar of the relevant educational institution.

The University of Vocational Technology (UoVT), Sri Lanka invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the position of Assistant Registrar.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should possess either:

A First Class or Second Class Degree from a recognized university or higher educational institution.
OR a recognized degree together with a Postgraduate Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Administration or Management from a recognized institution.

Internal Applicants

A graduate of a recognized university or higher educational institution who is a confirmed employee of the University.
OR an employee with at least five years of satisfactory service in the relevant field in Grade II of the Management Assistant non-technological (U-MN-I) or technological (U-MT-I) category.

Age: 22 to 45 years. The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Salary: According to Management Services Circular No. 06/2025 dated 02.04.2025.
Salary Code: U-EX 1-2025.
Selection: Written Competitive Examination and/or Structured Interview.
Transfer: This is a non-transferable post.

About the Vacancy

The Council of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts invites applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor in accordance with Section 34 of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978, subsequent amendments and University Grants Commission Circular No. 03/2023.

The Vice-Chancellor is the Principal Executive Officer, Principal Academic Officer and Accounting Officer of the University.

Applicant Profile

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be below 63 years of age by the application closing date.
Should have outstanding academic achievements and a strong research profile.
Should demonstrate proven leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate understanding of university policies, academic excellence and institutional responsibilities.
Should demonstrate integrity, transparency, accountability and effective leadership.

Documents Required

A statement of vision for the development of the University.
A brief account of the achievements proposed if appointed as Vice-Chancellor.
Curriculum Vitae including date of birth.
Copy of National Identity Card or valid passport.
Additional supporting documents, where applicable.

Present or former Vice-Chancellors of the same University must also submit the additional accomplishment report specified in the notice.

Applicants currently serving in the Public Service or other specified institutions must provide the required letter from their employer.

Selection Procedure

Eligible applicants will be invited to make a presentation before a Special Council meeting. The presentation must be at least 10 minutes and must not exceed 15 minutes.
