📌 What is Official Languages Proficiency Oral Test?

The Department of Official Languages has introduced the Official Languages Proficiency Oral Test for public officers and provincial public service officers to fulfill the official language proficiency requirement.

The oral examination includes:

Listening Skills Assessment
Speaking & Reading Skills Assessment

Candidates must obtain at least 40% marks separately in each component to pass.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year via the Department of Official Languages website.

Only officers who passed Sinhala/Tamil as a second language at G.C.E O/L can apply.
Application form should be completed in English.
Oral test is conducted twice a year.
Admission card signature must be certified by the Head of Institution.
