Applications are invited for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Central Provincial Management Service Officers Service - 2026. The Commissioner General of Examinations is expected to conduct the written examination in December 2026.

Basic Eligibility

• Must be a Sri Lankan citizen and a permanent resident of the Central Province.
• Age must be between 18 and 30 years as at 16 October 2026. Eligible dates of birth are from 16 October 1996 to 16 October 2008, inclusive, as stated in the Gazette.
• To compete under a district, the applicant must have lived permanently in that Central Province district for at least three continuous years within the five years immediately preceding the qualification closing date.
• Must possess the required physical and mental fitness and be able to serve anywhere in the Central Province.

Educational Qualifications

• G.C.E. O/L: Pass six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in four subjects including Mathematics and the relevant Language (Sinhala, Tamil or English).
• G.C.E. A/L: Pass all subjects at one sitting, excluding the Common General Test. Under the old syllabus, passes in three subjects at one sitting are sufficient.
• All prescribed qualifications must be completed on or before 16 October 2026.

Examination Structure

Candidates must obtain at least 40% in each paper and at least 50% of the total marks to qualify. Three percent of vacancies are reserved for eligible persons with disabilities, subject to the official conditions.

How to Apply

1. Read the Gazette and the online technical instructions carefully.
2. Complete the online application in English.
3. Select the correct district, examination town and language medium. These choices are subject to the Gazette conditions.
4. Pay the full examination fee of Rs. 600 through an approved online-system payment method.
5. Keep a copy of the submitted application and payment receipt.

Important: This examination is to be held together as a single examination with the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to Grade III of the Combined Public Service Management Service Officers Service. Applicants qualifying for both services will be allowed to select one according to preference.
