This examination is applicable to officers in Grade II of the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service and the officers specified in the official Gazette notice.

Subjects 01 and 02 are conducted in Sinhala or Tamil. Subject 03, Link Language, is conducted only in English.

Important: The online application must be completed in English only. Candidates are advised to download and read the instructions before completing the application.

After submitting the online application, applicants should download and print it, complete the required sections, obtain certification of the signature and submit a copy to the head of the institution for inclusion in the personal file.

💰 Examination Fee

No examination fee is charged for the first attempt, whether sitting the full examination or part of it. For subsequent attempts, the fee is Rs. 250 per subject.

Important: The circular states that future human resource management processes such as service confirmation, transfers and promotions for the relevant services will be carried out through this system. Therefore, officers should make sure their User Profile is completed accurately.

In addition, applicants should possess one of the following:

Giving Gifts to Teachers by Students and Parents

The Ministry of Education has issued Circular No. 33/2016 regarding the practice of students and parents giving various gifts to teachers.

The circular refers to instances where money is collected from students or parents, particularly on occasions such as the end of the school year, Teachers' Day and similar events, for the purpose of presenting gifts to class teachers or subject teachers.

The Ministry highlights that organised collection of money for such gifts can create difficulties for parents, especially families facing financial difficulties.

School principals and teachers are therefore expected to ensure that students and parents are not placed under pressure to collect money, provide gifts or participate in activities connected with such collections.

Principals, teachers, parents and other members of the school community are advised to follow the instructions contained in the official Ministry of Education circular.

A Teacher Mutual Transfer System has been introduced to help teachers find suitable mutual transfer opportunities more conveniently.

The system is intended to support teachers who are looking for mutual transfers between different areas, zones and provinces in Sri Lanka by providing a platform through which interested teachers can connect with one another.

Teachers who wish to seek a mutual transfer can visit the system, check the available information and connect with other teachers who may be interested in exchanging their places of service.

Important: Teachers should verify the applicable transfer rules, eligibility requirements and approval procedures with the relevant education authorities before proceeding with any transfer.

🎓 Educational Qualification

Applicants should have been sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.

💼 Working Experience

Applicants must possess at least one year of active legal practice or professional legal experience after enrolment as an Attorney-at-Law.

✅ Other Qualifications

Proficiency in written and spoken Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Sound proficiency in MS Office applications.
Knowledge and understanding of the Wakf Act of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.

🎂 Age Limit

Applicants should be not less than 21 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of applications.

💰 Salary

According to Public Administration Circular 10/2025 SL-1, the basic salary is stated as Rs. 82,150 (2027), together with applicable allowances and EPF/ETF.

📌 Appointment Conditions

The appointment will initially be for a period of one year and may be renewed subject to performance and departmental requirements.

General Conditions

Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post.
Must possess excellent character.
