All Island Inter School Debate Competition

World Mental Health Day Celebrations

Theme : Young People & Mental Health in a Changing World

• This Competition is open to all schools in the island
• This will be carried out Tri - Lingually
• Senior Debate Team consisting of 04 Members should be sent to represent one school.
• Initial round will be held at the National Institute of Mental Health Premises
• Final round will be held in October in par with the world Mental Health day Commemoration Programmes
• Debate topics for initial round as follows

1. Addictions in young population is influenced / not influenced by use of mass media
2. Mental health Education is important / not important to cope up with the challenges in education
3. Mental health and the prevention of mental illness is affected / not effected by religious & cultural background
4. Employment of both parents positively/negatively affects the personality of youth
