Eligibile

obtained a minimum of 3 passes at any number of sittings at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in three Science subjects, or,
obtained a minimum of 36 from among the Foundation Courses in Science offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, acceptable for the selection of three disciplines at Level 3, or,
secured an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Teachers who have successfully followed the 3 year Teacher Education programme of a National College of Education and hold the Diploma in Teaching Science/Mathematics would be exempted from Level 5 of B.Ed Programme

School Cutoff Marks - Grade V Scholarship Exam 2019

The cut-off marks of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination 2019 have been released by the Ministry of Education.

The ministry said that students who have not received a school despite qualifying based on the cut-off marks and those who have a valid reason to change the school they have received are requested to submit their appeals using the model applications published on the ministry’s website.

Appeals should be submitted to the ministry between January 06 and 17, 2020

Diploma in English Language & Literature

Applications are invitedf from Open University Of Sri Lanka for the Diploma Course in English Language & Literature.

All applicants must be over 18 and have

Passed the OUSL Certificate in Professional English (after 2012) with a minimum of 3 “C” passes; or
Passed the OUSL Advanced Certificate in English for Business and Professional Communication Stage II, with the following minimum passes: “B+” in Reading and Writing, and “B-” in Business Communication Skills and Speech & Listening; or
Obtained three (3) passes at the GCE Advanced Level and a pass at the Selection Test for the above programme conducted by the Department of Language Studies;or
Passed any Foundation Course offered by the OUSL and a pass at the Selection Test for the above programme conducted by the Department of Language Studies; or
Obtained an equivalent or any other higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the OUSL and a pass at the Selection Test for the above programme conducted by the Department of Language Studies.

All the applicants except those applying under category (a) and (b) are required to sit for a Selection Test on 09th of February 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am to be held at all the 09 Regional Centres of OUSL (Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Badulla, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Ratnapura).

Closing Date : 21st January 2020

Selection Test Date:
09th February 2020 (those sitting for the selection test should retain their index number in order to obtain results)
