All Island Art, Poster & Cartoon Competition - 2025


Applications are invited for the Sithuvili Siththam - 2025, All island Poster, Art and Cartoon Competition from National Child Protection Authority.

Closing Date 30.05.2025

  • For school Students from grade 1 to grade 5, only Arts can be submitted. 
  • Students studying from grade 6 to grade 13 can send both Arts& Posters. 
  • Students represent category (7) children with special needs can send only Arts.
  • Contestant of open section can send paintings from all three categories of Arts, Posters & Cartoons. 
  • Arts, Poster & Cartoons must be done in an A4 size paper using any medium (Pastel, Water Colors etc…) 
  • Deadline for the submission is 30th of May 2025 & paintings should be sent us on or before 30th of May 2025 by registered post or should handover to National Child Protection Authority by hand. 
  • (1.) Name of the competition, (2.) Section (3.) Category & (4.) Type of Painting(Art /Poster/Cartoon) should be mentioned on the top left corner of the envelop.  
  • Contestants can send only one painting from each category relevant to them. The decision taken by judges will be the final decision & the candidates who do not fulfill the requirements will be disqualified.(All final decisions will be taken by National Child Protection Authority) 
  • For all Island Winners First place - Awards, Medals, Gifts & Certificates Second place & Third place - Medals, Gifts & Certificates will be presented 
  • For District Winners First place - Medals, Gifts & Certificates Second place & Third place – Medals, Gifts & Certificates will be presented 
  • The paintings of winners & few selected paintings will be used for the publications of National Child Protection Authority & list of Winners will also be published on NCPA official website(www.childprotection.gov.lk)

Applications are invited for the ASIDISI Scholarship PRogramme from Media Ministry.

OBJECTIVE
To upgrade professionalism of Sri Lankan journalists

TARGET GROUP
  • Journalists serving on the basis of full time or part time in recognized electronic and print media institutions islandwide
  • Freelance Journalists
  • Provincial Journalists
  • Web Journalists
  • Media Technicians

SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Should be a journalist stipulated in 02 above and should have completed 03 years of service.
  • Applicants must have been selected for or currently following a Postgraduate (Master's) Degree, Diploma, Long Term or Short Term Certificate Course related to the field of media conducted by recognized Universities, higher educational / training institutes at the date of calling for interviews. (A letter issued by the respective institution mentioning the selection to the course or currently following the course should be submitted at the interview).
  • The course applied for should be directly related to the field of media.
  • Age should be between 18 - 55 years
  • Should possess Media Accreditation issued by the Department of Government Information for the year 2025
  • A Journalist can obtain benefits twice under this Scholarship Scheme and may apply for the second time
  • 05 years having been qualified for the first scholarship.

GRANTING FINANCIAL FACILITIES
  • Maximum scholarship amount paid for a degree or postgraduate degree course is Rupees Two Hundred Thousand (Rs. 200,000/-) and the maximum scholarship amount for a long term or short term Certificate Course is Rupees One Hundred Thousand (Rs. 100,000/-)
  • Journalists selected for the Scholarship will be paid 50% of the scholarship amount at the beginning of the course as the first instalment and 25% of the balance 50% as the second instalment and the remaining 25% will be paid after the submission of the certificate obtained on the completion of the course.

Education Ministry has released the Circular on Home Economics skills development competition.

Circular No - 18/2025
Circular Date - 11.04.2025

Objectives
  1. Developing student expertise in food and nutrition.
  2. Developing student expertise in textile technology.
  3. Developing student expertise in child development.
  4. Developing student expertise in household management.
  5. Developing practical life skills.
  6. Encouraging innovative approaches for Resource Management.
  7. Promoting the sustainable use of local raw materials.
  8. Focus on traditional cooking methods, the use of local foods, and food security.
  9. Mastering the art of hospitality and serving of food.
  10. Encouraging research-based approaches.
  11. Developing students' entrepreneurial skills and providing opportunities to enter the job market.
  12. Providing opportunities for students to develop their theoretical knowledge.

Instructions for Competitions
  • Students who study Home Economics in Grades 10 and 11 shall only be allowed to participate in the competitions.
  • Objectives, conditions, and scoring system of each competition should be explained to students.
  • Decision of the Secretary of Education on competitions shall be final.

  • School Level - Before April 15
  • Divisional Level  Before May 01
  • Zonal Level - Before June 15
  • Provincial level - Before August 15
  • National level - Before October 15

Judicial Service Commission is calling for applications in terms of the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act (Chapter 115) to fill vacancies in the 'Quazi' posts for the areas indicated in the

Basic Qualifications
  • A Muslim married male over 40 years of age
  • A graduate of a recognized University or 
  • A Moulavi holding a certificate from an institution recognized by the Ministry in charge of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs or
  • A holder of Al-Alim certificate issued by the Department of Education or
  • An Attorney at Law or a holder of other similar qualifications or
  • A retired public servant who has held office in staff grade.
  • A person currently holding a permanent post in the public service shall not be eligible  to apply.
Other Qualifications
  • Applicant should be a follower of Islam religion and should be physically fit and of good character and standing in the community and possessing a sound knowledge of the law relating to Muslim Marriage and Divorce and specially the Muslim Law.
  • The selected applicant will be appointed for a period, which will be specified in the letter of appointment.
  • It is a legal requirement that a Quazi should reside in the area for which he is appointed. Payment



A Quazi will be paid a total amount of Rs. 13,750/- inclusive of a monthly allowance of Rs. 7,500/= and an additional all inclusive allowance of Rs. 6,250/= per month for the cost of support services, stationary and postal expenses.
