- Deposits of licensed banks and finance companies are required to be insured (subject to exceptions) under the Sri Lanka Deposit Insurance Scheme (SLDIS).
- Public is advised to exercise due care to ensure the safety of their funds and refrain from depositing funds in unauthorised institutions.
